Solstice!

My gran used to say "It's all down hill from here" which is actually quite accurate as the Earth is now at its farthest from the Sun and will shortly be moving back to it's closest approach in Jan.

Isn't it just our luck to be given a faulty one - an elliptical orbit, a 23 degrees tilt and it's not even round.



(Background - Calvin has met two aliens - Galaxoid and Nebular - while collecting leaves for a school project, and has agreed that they can have the Earth if they give him 50 leaves, which they do. Anyway, they've now realised the Earth doesn't meet the specification ..... )

We've gone all the way round yet again.



OK, that was last night, but there won't be much difference, it's a bit cloudier today and it's the thought that counts.

I'm seriously considering getting the Christmas decorations out.......

Friday just seemed like a very long day. I thought it would never end.
