Mr Lefroy Set To Make A Big Announcement On Monday ?

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Would the Prime Minister join me in congratulating...

Reminds me a bit of the "are you f**ing sorry?" story.

I quite like Lefroy - i once spent an afternoon doing something that meant i was in a position to eavesdrop upon a conversation he was having, and was actually rather impressed by his obviously conciliatory spirit - and even though I never voted for him, and never would, I think the very fact that he cannot see himself as a Conservative Member of whatever shitshow of a Parliament is to come, means he's at least on the right side of history.
On a personal level I have no problem with Lefroy. He is a nice chap.

As an MP though, he's been almost as useless as David Kidney was.

Still, both are infinately preferable to the odious Cash.

I still find it interesting that he drives a Leaf. It’s not a very Tory car at all.

Our office is in the same part of the tech park as his, and he has generally been a pleasant individual to talk to in passing. I don’t really think much of his voting record though... notably things relating to LGBT rights, etc.

He has the typical level of ambition and dynamism one expects of Leaf buyers, sadly.

Oh Withnail, you do make me chuckle, you are like a little Troll hiding in the shadows waiting for it to go dark so you can crawl out and make some inane posts or attack someone for their grammar in such a pedantry way that is actually quite sad. You remind me so much of my Husband. I am sure that you are a charming and witty person in real life but when you get behind a keyboard you just seem to turn into a bit of a dick. Life is really far too short for all your sarcasm and negativeness. Forums should be about people sharing thoughts and opinions in a friendly and humorous way, attacking and sarcasm is just so 2015 and most of us have grown up.

I’m totally going to stick up for @Withnail here.

I’ve only met him once and that was when he very kindly donated books to a church book sale that I was organising. He took the time to sort out books for me.
I found him to be just lovely.

Personally I think forums where people can’t have an opinion, or where everything is generically too lovely can be a bit boring.
I really like the banter on Stafford Forum, I like the difference of opinions, I like that we can agree to disagree.

Personally speaking, I’d rather read @Withnail posts than plenty of others I could mention.
His biting wit and obvious intelligence might not be to everyone’s taste, but for me, it beats some of the more tedious, inane drivel any day of the week.

Agreeing with Carole here, I dont agree one hundred percent with anyone here, but at least 95% of it I do, withnail falls into that 95% and I enjoy his posts a lot.

Really?

As I said: I am sure that he is a charming and witty person in real life.
I am more than capable of standing my own ground. I have been trolled and flamed by people far better at it. He amuses me. I appreciate his intelligence if not his sarcasm and negative-ness, I am not too sure I would put that into the "biting wit" category, but each to their own. .

Quite. This isn't America, we're not afraid of making fun of ourselves and our country.

The aforementioned billboard is political banter at its finest. As someone who frequents many online discussion mediums nothing here I would consider "trolling".

Oops, sorry I didn't realise you'd got one. Not trying to have a pop at you.

:embarrass:

So you should be sorry, however I will accept the keys to your own milk float at recompense.

I specifically logged in just to comment on how terrible that joke was, it still make me chuckle :)
Keep it up.

It is actually quite common that victims of fraud will lash out at the 'messenger' - there will often be a quite spirited attempt to discredit the bearer of such bad news, usually wrapped up in ad hominem attacks upon them.

The fact that they have been conned will weigh heavily with them, and attack will seem a better option than accepting the damning truth.

Personally I've always thought @Withnail was an absolute wanker.
