The telephone number of the Italian on Foregate Street is 01785 259745. They do not take bookings on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday you just turn up. They are open all day on Sundays.

Hope this helps anyone who might be interested.

Seems a little strange to me, whats the thinking behind this?
Ask don't take bookings either, it's so that they can avoid keeping a table empty all evening for someone who isn't showing up til 8.30 I think. If the place is full they sit you in a lounge area, and you have a drink and wait. I've never needed to wait more than about 20 minutes.

I would love to try the Italian on Foregate Street. Where's Foregate Street????
Don't laugh at me, I'm from up north and haven't found my way around yet,. Mind you I lived in Sheffield for 38 years without finding my way around there!

The A34 leading from Gaol Square (thats the roundabout by Sainsbury's) towards Stone is Foregate Street, then turns into Stone Road.

Went on sat with the GF. Nice place, was busy but only waited 20 mins for a table (we visited at about 9:45). Menu isn't huge, but the food was good. Well, my steak was great, but my other half wasn't as impressed. She had the spicy risotto, which was nice but every mothfull tasted the same.

General feeling, place is fine but we prefer curry. Bring on Malabar!

On a side note, anyone noticed Spice Delight has gone downhill over the last few months? Still good, just nowhere near as good as it was:(

Not sure about the sit down stuff but the takeaway we had last week of a madras stylee was totally fantastic . I REALLY have to find out how they make that sauce and try it out for myself .

Really? Its all seemed a bit, I dunno, bland I suppose. Prob since mid November I've ordered 3 times, and its just not had the depth of flavour you usually get. Also noticed the main dishes seemed more watery.

Maybe I just got unlucky, they're still better than the rest so I'll still use them.

Vivere Ristorante Italiano ;)

Here's the site...
What's a vowel between friends anyway? A mere insignifigance sir, a minor trifle. You expect a busy man like myself to keep track of all the new restaurants in Stafford, spell their names correctly, and know the Italian for 'restaurant'? I'm not Giles Coren you know...

A few posts under my belt
I went last night for the 1st time.

The service was top notch, the wine was good, I actually got a rare steak, which is an achievement in Stafford, but we had 4 different dishes and they all tasted the same ie tinned tomatoes and dried herbs. It wasn't cheap either.
