Ask don't take bookings either, it's so that they can avoid keeping a table empty all evening for someone who isn't showing up til 8.30 I think. If the place is full they sit you in a lounge area, and you have a drink and wait. I've never needed to wait more than about 20 minutes.gk141054 said:

Went on sat with the GF. Nice place, was busy but only waited 20 mins for a table (we visited at about 9:45). Menu isn't huge, but the food was good. Well, my steak was great, but my other half wasn't as impressed. She had the spicy risotto, which was nice but every mothfull tasted the same.
General feeling, place is fine but we prefer curry. Bring on Malabar!
On a side note, anyone noticed Spice Delight has gone downhill over the last few months? Still good, just nowhere near as good as it was

Not sure about the sit down stuff but the takeaway we had last week of a madras stylee was totally fantastic . Really? Its all seemed a bit, I dunno, bland I suppose. Prob since mid November I've ordered 3 times, and its just not had the depth of flavour you usually get. Also noticed the main dishes seemed more watery.
Maybe I just got unlucky, they're still better than the rest so I'll still use them.

I went last night for the 1st time.
The service was top notch, the wine was good, I actually got a rare steak, which is an achievement in Stafford, but we had 4 different dishes and they all tasted the same ie tinned tomatoes and dried herbs. It wasn't cheap either.
