JKT International discrimination

The whole of the area around the station is chocca with JKT International coaches including the bus stop where the 101 Hanley bus stops. They are there as rail replacement bus services apparently.

Anyway I explained to the JKT bus driver who was parked in the 101 bus stop that I was disabled and needed the bus to lower so that I could get on board. He was fine and said he would move when the 101 appeared - no problem. He also explained it was his company.

He was talking to two of his drivers, one of whom turned aggressively abusive and said the 101 bus would stop on the road and when I said I needed the raised ramp and the bus to lower his response was "tough".

The 101 arrived and stopped in the road and the driver lowered the bus so that I could board with some discomfort.

Whilst awaiting departure the abusive driver proceeded to give me a load of verbal and call me a "tw*t".

The other driver and the owner then got on my bus and asked the 101 driver and me if everything was ok and did F all when I said "no you need to sort your mate out". No response!!

God help any disabled or reduced mobility rail passengers who have to use this discriminatory w*nky rail replacement bus company!!!

I shall be taking this further.

As you have already explained, the discrimination was from one person, not the whole company, indeed the owner of the company checked to make sure you were ok so you are making a mountain out of a molehill. By all means formalise your complaint about the one person, I am sure the owner of the company would welcome solid evidence should he wish to discipline his employee (which he certainly should not do in public when you first made the comment). Calling the whole company a "discriminatory w*nky company" and, presumably, complaining to Network Rail in an attempt to get them to censor the company, risking the income of dozens of people should they lose the contract is a little over the top don't you think ?

As my dear departed Dad always taught me: Never put down to malice anything that can be explained away with "ignorance", and if someone is ignorant you can only feel sorry for them or try to educate them.

The owner of the company was next to the abusive discriminating person so exactly what more "solid" evidence does he need.

The fact that the owner allowed one of his employees to abuse me makes the whole company culpable.

To add to that the owner may have asked if I was ok but did absolutely nothing after that.

I am not making a mountain out of a molehill and quite frankly the attitude of the abusive driver and the owner of managing his staff is totally unacceptable but I'm glad you think it's fine as long as no-one loses their jobs eh?

Of course it's not fine, I am merely pointing out that you cannot possibly believe the whole company is culpable. While the man said he was the owner of the company it might be wiser to actually find out if that was true - Jawed Ahktar is the Sole Director: 94 Scarborough Road, Walsall, West Midlands, WS2 9TR 01543 360123- write to him or call him and make your point before potentially blackening the name of a whole business that claims to have been going for 50 years based on "our exceptional standard of service. We aim to carter (sic) for every need of all our customers in a professional and effective manner"
I'm all for complaining but, "keep your powder dry", and do it professionally. Stuff like this will always wait a few days while you take a few deep breathes and mull it over sensibly. If he is the owner and does nothing to satisfy you - fill your boots ! - you have plenty of legislation on your side.

Unless,of course, you're complaining about drivers using Alliance Street to avoid road closures in the area.
The abusive driver is the face of the company. If he's abusive or discriminatory then that (in my opinion) makes the company abusive & discriminatory unless shown to be otherwise.

"the face of the company" - come on ! . So the person in Sainsburys who short changed you (for whatever reason) makes the whole company crooked? Or the Trent bus conductor who clipped me round the ear when I was 14 for trying to get away with a child fare makes the whole Trent Bus company child abusers?, or because the person sitting next to me in the office always goes home early and that means the whole company are shirkers? If every company had that much control over everything all its staff did we would be living in a very different country, probably without access to this forum.
