People think The Beatles wrote about the Albert hall in London

It was in fact in Crabbery Street

The Beatles also wrote Misery, whilst held up in the Gents at the Kings Hall in Stoke

The EE shop on the corner of Crabbery Street / Gaolgate Street.

Edit: It actually may have been any one of the three units (EE, Game, Greggs) but I reckon it was more than likely situated where Game currently stands.

A couple of years ago I went in there to buy a couple shirts I didn't really want. (I thought it was still Burtons !!) … I came out with a phone I didn't really want. :teef:

anyone know the exact location for the "north walls " pic

I'm probably totally wrong but I thought that pic was the 'town' end of North Walls where it met Gaol Road / Gaolgate Street at Gaol Square (so many 'Gaols'!) and the white walled building on the left was the side of a furniture shop called Alcocks and the right hand corner - where the family are about to turn onto the main street - is where Cafe Nero now stands (???)

Those two pix are really interesting. I can now remember a little bit how the Gaol Square was on that side before the bypass blew it all away. :embarrass:

I think No 4, with the dodgy 'policeman', is here - you can just see the roof line of the 'crescent house' on the right and the end wall of the house in Salt Road at the far end.

No 2 looks to be in the same place.

No 9 is probably in front of the same house, looking the other way - the chimney stack and some of the mottling on the render seem very similar.

I thought so too for pic number 4, my house is not that far away from this then :)
