You'd probably not want to be on your own when faced with a sudden influx of pushy caravan types.
I thought that myself once I realised what was going on at GreyFriars.
I don't think they'd get very far, owing to the earth moving vehicles just down the road. I'd love see one put the bucket through the roof of a pikey caravan

Husband was made aware of a conversation that took place about him this morning.

Person 1 (Male) “Here he comes, off his head”

Person 2 (female) “ What???? No, surely not? I absolutely don’t believe it. I can’t imagine HIM being off his head anytime anywhere, let alone at 9.30 in the morning, look he’s smiling and greeting people and being nice, he’s definitely not off his head.

Person 1 suddenly comprehending “oh, you misunderstand. I didn’t say “Here he comes, off his head”
I said “Here he comes, our Office Head”

And that’s how rumours start!

The last few days I've been desperately seeking silence. I've got a migraine, one of my cluster ones it seems from the fact that it's not buggering off. Everyone and everything is so loud. The dogs keep barking at the tosspots outside who are riding loud scrambler bikes and quad bikes up and down and up and down in the street. Husband is loudly talking to his mates all day on the internet. Next door but ones dog is constantly barking out the back, neighbour woman is screaming abuse at her kids out the back. I can't escape. Every room has some kind of crazy inducing racket. I've found the sound generator website that was mentioned on here a while back and i'm having to put that on with headphone on, but to drown out the racket i'm having to have it playing very loudly which is great for cutting down on the crazy making noises but terrible for my poor head. Eventually one of two things may happen, my head will explode or I'll go crazy, mind you both seem likely.

This sounds absolutely awful.
Is there anyway that you can escape from it all, for a few days, or even for a day?

Can you find a way to just leave the house for a bit and have time for yourself? Everyone needs time for themselves even if it’s just an hour a day,

Sadly the Chase is too far away from where i am now. However I've organised seeing my eldest today, we are going to Bentley Bridge. Not the quietest place but it might be more generic noise if you know what I mean. We can also wander down the tow path at the back if it gets a bit much. My head doesn't seem too bad right now, so If I can just avoid having my ear barked down between now and when I go that would be very helpful.
I'm getting out of the house for a bit though, Yay!

Getting out of the house seems to have done me a world of good. However I shall definitely remember your very kind offer if it goes nuclear again.
If I remember correctly from my copy of Protect & Survive, if it goes nuclear, you need a bit more than earplugs.

Surround yourself in green, it doesn't matter where you find it.

Otherwise engulf yourself in blue - or rather any water, round here most of it will be brown, but don't let that put you off.

Green and blue - surround yourself with as much of it as you can, as often as you can.

This is an order.

My nephew brought over his chainsaw this afternoon, he used it to cut down part of the jungle next door. The trees/undergrowth were pushing my fence out of joint, the same fence @Neon Jay fitted only 2-3yrs ago. He knew we were going go round and attack his garden, I'd spoken to him about it sometime during the week, and then again this morning.
Our gardens are only 12 foot wide, and about 120/130 long. You can't see the neighbours fence on the other side of him. Part of his is blocked off at the bottom with another bit of fencing, and he used to chuck all manner of rubbish there.
Now he's worried that if his landlords find out about the garden they will chuck him out.
My sister says I should ring them, I'm not so sure because I know what he's like.
