Over head signs warning of overnight closures between jc14 and 13 from I think the 28th to Sept the 1st. For us early starters it will make the town that little more congested in the early hours.
Southbound 13-12closed 9pm-6am from 2nd-5th sept +northbound 12-13 closed 11-12th Sept. ( As well as 13-14 each time, as the barrier work for 13-14 will be coming right up to the J13 section)

Looks like I will be getting on at Cannock next week. Also I think I may have seen an overnight road closure signposted for the M6 where it splits off to the M6 toll, the M6 stretch being closed. Swore there was a sign but won't check until next week.
I get that it's the best time to close roads but this is a huge pain for me.

For what it's worth, I haven't seen anything about that, and I travel that stretch every day.

The M6 in Staffordshire is due to be closed for a 'significant time' after a lorry caught fire.

Highways England has closed the northbound carriageway between Stafford North , junction 14, and Crewe , junction 16, with delays expected to last through rush hour.

Traffic monitoring company INRIX says the road closed shortly after 3.50am and is expected to remain closed through the morning.

A Highways England spokesman said: "There is a total closure on the M6 Northbound between junction 14, Stafford North, and junction 16, Crewe.

"This is due to a HGV fire.

"Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are on the scene."

seems to be the only way you can get a road resurfaced quickly these days, maybe we should be lighting fires in all the potholes in town.

I think being concerned about pot holes will seem like a golden era very soon

It'll soon be the 19th anniversary of the fuel shortages, within 72 hours people were prepared to rip each other's throats out for a gallon of unleaded

Careful who you vote for

There's a tanker mooching about off the coast of Syria with 300,000 tons of Iranian crude onboard. Maybe we should have kept it !!!
She's now been off plot for 15 hours …..
What's a World War between friends …?

M6 closed between J12 & J13 northbound, only one lane open southbound. A449 Gailey to M6 J13 pretty much stationary. Accident A449 northbound between M54 and A5. Most of the other roads in the area congested. Main problem overturned lorry on M6 crossing the central barrier and spilling large quantities of diesel.

If more people used bicycles - like actual normal people, seizing the means of normalcy - they'd have moved through town a lot quicker today.
