A little pink pussy- cat has taken Barrow-in-Furness -- that's a gain from the Liberals there.

See deluded.

Like Liverpool fans with ` this is our year` lol.

Awful team, playing at a poor standard with a ugly and depressing ground and dwindling fan base. Fact are facts

Idiot.

Why am I deluded? I'm giving you an accurate account of the game from someone that was there. If i said we were brilliant for 90 minutes then you would have a point.

The team isn't awful. This team finished mid table last season and have made some good signings, however we desperately need a goalscorer or our current players to find their scoring boots.

Have you been to the ground recently? Lots of improvements have been made to the function rooms and the new fans bar looks fantastic thanks to the work of fans like myself.

The club have also obtained a grant to re-tarmac the car park and build a new away turnstile block.

Dwindling fans base?! Based on what last seasons crowd? Last night nearly 500 people turned up, which isn't bad for a team that was sitting bottom of the league and previously beaten 4 nil away at Hyde.

Stafford Rangers, like every club in the land, has their loyal fan base and then the floaters or glory hunters. If we were top of the league the fan base would be much higher. We've also lost our big local derby this season, which has affected the crowd numbers.

With regards to behaviour of a small minority of fans at the cage at the end of the game, this has significantly improved over the years. Only last week a director refunded 1 idiot and escorted from the ground because of inappropriate language at the end of the game. This idiot has now been banned for life.

It all my years of going to rangers and attending the majority of home games I have never seen any fan spit at opposing players. More rubbish.

I take my two young children to games and they love it because it is a family club.

Well what an afternoon, friends and family in the Greyhound, pints of Oakham Citra, bags of wsffs.
Entertaining 1st half where boro' should have been 2 up, I enjoyed a piping hot herb crusted chicken-balti pie.
Second half boro' continued to dominate and were rewarded with a fine solo effort from the stocky Briscoe. A corner kick powered into the net gave us a 2nd goal, unsure who scored due inadequate tannoy.
3rd goal was the result of 2 passes from our own half and finished by the rangers number 9 in a Martin Chivers style.
Final score 3-0
Couple of pints of Maverick in the Floodgate then home.
Oh and the sun was shining.

Back to the studio Brian......

We would hope that this victory and a mid-week break, due to a Warrington FA Cup replay, will kick start our season. The ability was always there but confidence was an issue with going a few games without scoring.
This week gives us chance to yet again be a community club. On Friday night there is a fund raising event where there is a load of sports memorabilia being auction in the club from 7pm with funds going to the players budget fund and a donation going to Motor Neurone Disease.
Then on Saturday we welcome FC United so that is guaranteed to be one of our best gates of the season.

Is the auction also online?

I understand yesterday's win was worth £7k

Useful
Rangers will receive £4,500 for winning yesterday's tie. They have also guaranteed themselves at least another £2,250 even if they lose in the next round. So, yes, just short of £7k in total.

The prize money starts to jump up significantly:
First round qualifying winners (116) £4,500 Losers receive £1,500
Second Round Qualifying winners (80) £6,750 Losers receive £2,250
Third Round Qualifying winners (40) £11,250 Losers receive £3,750
Fourth Round Qualifying winners (32) £18,750 Losers receive £6,250
First Round Proper winners (40) £36,000
Second Round Proper winners (20) £54,000
Third Round Proper winners (32) £135,000
Fourth Round Proper winners (16) £180,000
Fifth Round Proper winners (8) £360,000
Quarter-Final winners (4) £720,000
Semi-Final winners (2) £1,800,000
Semi-Final losers (2) £900,000
Final runners-up (1) £1,800,000
Final winners (1) £3,600,000

A cup run like that in 1974/75 would net over a quarter of a million. Whilst that may not be realistic, clubs from Rangers current level do regularly make it through to the first round proper and beyond. Reaching the first round and drawing someone like Sunderland away would be a huge boost to the Club financially.

I love the balti pie. I now looking forward to eating Rangers. Did you go into the fans bar?

Missed the fans bar due to a call of nature, the coffee bar needs re-siting if they only pocket £10 after expenses, suggest just inside betwixt turnstile and social club or corner of shed end .

But man herb crusted chicken-balti pies, well worth the admission......

Well, we went to our higher league opposition, Kidderminster Harriers, in the FA Cup and got a draw (0-0). A decent vocal following and a very defiant defensive display earned us a replay at Marston Road on Tuesday 7.45,
While the forecast will be totally different to yesterday, we hope for a good turnout and for anybody worrying about the weather, we have cover for over 2,000 in the ground these days.
