Mine have gone too far now. The psycho's who live across the road and yell stuff at us have now actually hurt me. I was fetching in the shopping and had just gone through the front door on my way in when one of the bastards threw an egg really hard at me hitting me on the back and splattering egg all over me and the inside of my hall! It's even on the ceiling we've just painted :( It was icy cold and really hurt, left a nasty red mark too. Needless to say they were some words exchanged and we got the usual cry of peado etc when informed we had cctv and were calling the police.
Police came, wrote it all down, looked at the footage and as the actual thrower can't be identified, they are going to send round the pcso to chat with us (my choice). I'm at the stage now where i don't want to leave the house again.
Very sorry to hear this Gadget! Hope something can be sorted out soon. I know how scared I felt when my neighbour was being rather nasty to us but it was nowhere near as bad as this. We're all thinking of you!

Sounds to me that you have been assaulted - assault is a serious offence.

I know it's easier said than done, but i'd push the button on this - that is totally unacceptable.
Totally agree. Too many times I hear excuses for not arresting. Can't really identify from CCTV, It wasn't his egg that hit you?
If this had been a very serious assault (or attack on someone in public eye, police office etc) do you think they would let it drop becuase they could not accurately make out who it was from CCTV?

Your account of who you think it is, evidence of previous behaviour, circumstantial, no proper alibi - surely enough to warrant an arrest at least. Charges and convictions can will come later.
I am sure if you give the attacker a clip round the ear the police wont hesitate to take action

I'm sorry to hear that gadget. I'd be very upset and annoyed if it were me. The local hoodies were throwing things at the windows on our street again the other night. I'm starting to think its a wet tennis ball they are throwing as it makes a right thud, but doesn't break the window. There is also never any evidence left in the garden - just a dirty round mark on the window. Still I shouldn't complain when there are others that have it really bad.

Gadget, I am appalled to read what is happening to you. A bad day at work is one thing but a bad day at home doesn't finish. You have helped and advised so many people on the Forum - isn't there some way we can help you? What about a flood of correspondence to your local councillor? To the Chief Constable? To the Staffs Police Facebook or Twitter accounts? I am more than happy to put metaphorical pen to paper to press for positive action to relieve your problems. There usually comes a point when it is easier to fix things than to keep responding to polite enquiries! If you think that might be helpful, just say the word. If you have any concerns that might make the situation worse, then that's totally your call.

I second what flossietoo says!

the same goes for the other forumites that are having these problems too!

Have a chat with you....???

Sounds like they need to have a chat with the idiots doing this. Even without proof of who actually did it, they can still give them the "we're keeping an eye on you" chat.

Thanks for all your kind words and support, you lot are the best xx
An update, Pcso came round and looked at the footage for when the idiots did our fence, she was able to identify them and later when she called round to collect the disk of the footage we had burned told us she had gotten a confesion and the little darling had id'd all his mates too. Result on that one :) As for the egg incident we talked about that and she advised that we call them imediately 999 job if anything else happens. Ade went over to see the woman who lives there, who apologised and said it was a mate that was over and he was 'beered up' He asked them if we could have some peace and they seemed very willing to bury the hatchet. I think us actually calling the police scared them silly.
The housing woman came round yesterday with yet another pcso to see what problems we'd been having so i told them. She wasn't impressed so i think that they will be getting a visit or a letter from the housing soon, i think they are already skating on thin ice. Aparantly the woman is dating a bloke called Moor(e) who has a rep? Anyone heard of him?
I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better and i might venture to the co-op tomorrow as i've not been out of the house since.
Thanks again for all of your support x

Glad to hear they are starting to take things a bit more seriously, but I'm concerned at your comments about the housing turning up with a pcso, why was this? If it was because the housing team don't feel safe up there without a police escort and if so why did they house you in an area they don't feel safe?

They have a duty of care to you, personally I think you should consider asking to be re-housed in a safer area.

very good point! once the immediate problem is dealt with and you start to feel a bit safer in your own home (and it's appalling that you don't :( ) i would perhaps raise this with whoever is responsible for housing you, as darben suggests..

How are things today? Did you go out? Dont let the scumbags win!

When I was a kid I lived on a council estate and the neighbours had dogs they let roam the streets that would bite you. Anyway I remember being to scared to go out in case I got bitten again. I used to climb over the fence and across the field rather than walk down my road. It was crazy. You need to feel safe and secure where you live.

Well that will teach me to report anything. When they were here we were actually feeling rather rough with this really bad cold that's going round. I had 3 kids of school with it and was feeling a bit shite anyway so the place was rather messy as last thing i wanted to do was hoover etc. She noticed the old suite while she was here and gave us 7 days to get rid, which we did it was gone on Monday. We have now recieved a stroppy letter from her informing us that due to the place being cluttered and ''unhygeinic'' (WTF my place is clean apart from the dishwasher need loading and the hoovering) she will be coming on Friday to do ''a full house inspection''. we have e-mailed back and said no you are not, we already have family support etc and we don't need anyone else coming and poking around our house. She reckons we will be in breach of our tenancy if we don't let her in, we've told her to send our family support worker if she is so desperate to have a tidyness report or go get a court order.
I'm tired of folk thinking they can just waltz in and out of our house at will. It's bad enough i don't feel safe on the street without them making me feel my house is not my own and they can enter and tell me how to run it at will.
Wish i'd never reported anything now as they are all nice and happy and my life is a misery.

Old thread but relevant question - I take it it’s not illegal to build a skateboard ramp in your garden and pi55 everybody off within hearing distance? Peaceful enclosed gardens disrupted by twattish thudding when Town park is 5 minutes away!

I doubt it.
Let me put it this way...

I used to live next door to a couple that drank heavily and had loud get togethers on their back garden.
Cutting a very long story short , a very pissed Mr.Twat crashed through my back fence , stormed through my back door dressed in just his underpants.
Obviously he was given a slap or two and was ejected through my front door.
After that the police was called.

Crazy as it sounds , I apparently had no right to remove him and could've been arrested for assault.

My wife was so angry after being told this that she threw a mug at one of the officers and with that was warned she could be arrested too.

Request trial by jury. Doubt there'd be a conviction.

....regarding your issue though, your only recourse is to keep a list of times it happens and how loud it is , then report it to your local council.
Or speak to them to see if you can work something out.

Failing that , nip over with a sledgehammer ;)

I'm glad I don't live closer to you, bad enough with those either side of us slamming doors every 5 minutes.
