Wetherspoons are good news?

Really?

The owner is a complete an utter $h1t

If both left the town we'd have a bouyant and more varied pub trade

Not sure if I agree with the above statement. For example, say hypothetically spoons, acquires the old post house. You already know you'll get reasonable food, and modestly priced drinks . So I'd be inclined to venture in.

This unknown buyer , you don't know what you'll get. Same if you went overseas, and saw a McDonald's or kfc, you know what you're gonna get , and they're somewhat trusted.

Spoons isn't all bad at all imo.

Clearly a buyer not sought, but it wasn't for sale very long to be fair.

They could also have closed butlers bell as a venue and just waited for sale of the building, which would have happened at some point.

Wetherspoons are happy that either butlers bell is making enough money or have one eye on some of things that could happen at that end. Good news anyway

I can distinctly remember going to see 'Gorgo' there, a sort of British answer to 'Godzilla.' You went in down the left hand side for a seat in the bunny runs.

I saw Zulu. Must have been on a re release though as I think it first came out before I was born.

Ah Zulu

'You're only supposed to blow the bladdy doors off' !......

Wait, that wasn't original to the remade St. Trinians film?

I am shocked!

(As a small aside I was mused to see David Tennant and Jodie Whitaker both slumming in one of them)
