They generally want duvet covers and such rather than the actual duvets don’t they?
I took loads of blankets, sheets, old towels and face cloths to the cat protection a few years ago which they were very grateful for. They said at the time that they didn't want actual duvets as they get too soggy ...

Popped over to their indoor market stall and they were quite happy to take two duvets and a duvet cover off my hands.

The cats will be warm this winter

You seem to be talking about my husband here lol But he's just plain useless in general.

To be fair I’m probably doing my husband a disservice.
He’s a very kind decent honest patient man.
He can’t cook but he’ll iron a shirt and he does work incredibly hard.
But honestly sometimes I do despair...... he can’t find anything anywhere and when he dries the dishes he’ll say “where does this go” even though the kitchen has been in since 2012 so he’s had 7 years to learn which cupboard the pans go in.

Take last night for example. I made the mistake of letting him phone up for the Indian takeaway.
I don’t have a huge appetite so I just order a couple of veggie side dishes and some rice, that does me, and there is usually enough for lunch the next day.
Well last night husband didn’t specify that they were side dishes so I ended up with 3 main courses all to myself. I’ll be eating it until the end of next week. Apparently it didn’t even ring any bells when the bill was unusually large.

Then there was the time he mashed the potatoes without draining the water out first.

Mines had 38 years living in the same house. When he came back from a work trip the other week, I was down at sons house until later that night . Came back to find hubby gone to bed and his still full suitcase on the settee. Asked him why he hadn't bothered starting to unpack it..
" You know where everything goes,I don't" :ohno:
Closely followed by " A light bulb's gone. Where do we keep them?' Told him same place as when we moved in 38 years ago "Where's that?"
Told him many a time where all the important documents and paperwork are, for if I snuff it first..know damn well he hasn't been listening each time

Didn't know where to put this, so here goes.
My sister has a Hitachi tv, I have no idea of any model number. She has sound, but no picture. Is it knackered? Fixable? Expensive?

Try a Power reset:

Switch off the TV, switch off the TV power outlet and disconnect the TV power cable from the outlet.

Press and hold the TV’s Power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power from the TV then release the button.

Reconnect the TV power cable to the power outlet and switch on the outlet.

Turn on the TV in the normal manner and check if it turns on OK

Manuals are generally available online, when you know the actual model, and usually have fault-finding info. That is worth looking at first...

My Panasonic TV& Dvd have had sound but no picture a few times in the past.
Wasn't in the manuals, but I've written the fix on the front covers and it's worked each time... ' switch everything off for 20 seconds '. ...worked each time so far :D

I asked on FB and the very lovely @Gramaisc & @WhiteBakeCase both gave her advice. As yet she hasn't tried owt, mainly cos she's up very early in the morning for work. But I shall report back as soon as I know owt.

Yesterday I swallowed a filling.
Oh no, I hope your dentist is easier to get an appointment with than my Dr...

This morning I made 53 repeat dial calls to the Dr before finally getting through, then I was 10th in the queue for 15 minutes until the call was answered - only to be told there were no appointments available! The whole thing took from 8am to 8.45 absoloutly horrendous.
