Free carpet going to anyone that wants it.
8 metres x 4 metres.

It’s been in the lounge so some area have had more traffic than others.
One end is in much better condition than the other end, so it could very feasibly cut up to fit a small bedroom or even used for a caravan.
Some parts are marked but would come up very well with a carpet cleaner.

It’s free and available in a few weeks.

I know a family that would be very grateful for any carpet - I see lots of clients that are disadvantaged at my rising brook information and guidance community project. One in particular that has asked me if I can get her any carpets - she is a single mum who is working 16 hours with two young children aged 9 and 4 and a child at university, This lady who also volunteers two days a week at church in the kitchen and sometimes on my project. Let me know Carole if you would consider donating to her and I will provide you will the contact details - we will try to get someone from church to collect it for her as she does not have a car

I've spoken to the store house community project at Rising Brook Baptist church and they will be willing to collect the carpet. They have a large van that they collect donated furniture and items in and deliver to the families in need. Let me know when you want us to come. The guys are all volunteers and they collect on a Wednesday and a Thursday. I will make arrangements for them to contact you or I can do it through the forum to arrange a time to collect . Thank you so much for the donation we try to help families in need with furniture - household goods - curtains - bedding and anything that is needed to make a family home.

Sorry for the late reply.
It didn’t work out. By the time you’d contacted them and they contacted me, I’d missed the Wednesday/Thursday collection that week.

My carpet was being fitted the following Wednesday and I needed the old one taken away before then because I had nowhere to store it.
I explained this to them and suggested that they come early Wednesday. They couldn’t oblige because they were collecting in Cannock first and would come to me later, in the afternoon.
I didn’t really understand why they couldn’t collect from me first and then go to Cannock afterwards but I didn’t push the issue.

Someone else was very grateful for it, he came round on the Monday, took it up and took it away.

I was sorry that the family that you recommended couldn’t have it but it was just a matter of bad timing.

Hello Carole - at least it went to someone that was grateful for it and I'm sorry about the storehouse project team not fitting in with your time scale. Gareth and the team are volunteers and they do seem to have their set ways about things. Please do consider the storehouse project for any future furniture or gifts you want to give to charity . Many thanks.

I’ve got an armchair to go, if they can collect either Wednesday or Thursday morning this week they can have it for the charity.

Thank you Carole, I have send your contact details onto Gareth at the store house project - they do their collections and deliveries on a Wednesday and Thursday so I hope they can collect it this week. Thank you for think of us - our projects are always so busy helping people in need and we are always very grateful of furniture or things to make a house a home.

Gareth rang me up this afternoon to say he didn’t want it.
Said they had more chairs than they knew what to do with.
He didn’t ask anything about the chair, what type of chair or what condition.
Just that they didn’t want it.

So an upholstered fabric chair costing £800 and only a few years old is now going to Katherine House.

Thats a shame :(

Did KH take it? They refused loads of my stuff last house move even though it was better than most of what they had, the guy in the tip took some of it I think as we had no choice but to empty the van.

KH are a bit fussy at times, think it depends on who's on duty / which way the wind's blowing at the time.
And also what they already have, and what space is available, and what people are actually wanting (and paying for) at the time, etc.

At least it went to a charity instead of landfill - I know the rental space for storage for the store house is so expensive they have to balance what they have and what they can fit it. Thank you for your kind offer.

We found that whilst clearing our parents house. First guys came and turned their nose up at the table & chairs and a few other things and said they didn't want them because they had too many. (Could tell by their attitude before they even got inside that they had no intention of leaving with anything) Next day another crew turned up to collect something else and actually asked if they could take the table & chairs as well.
