The first open night run by volunteers was Friday 31st May. The pub is open again this Friday 7th June.
Looking for management to take tenancy in the Autumn. As this is owned by The Society the intent is for the Management Team to grow the business without being tied to a brewery

I last went there about twelve years ago, when the rather nice restaurant was in operation.

I was persuaded to give a "rather outgoing" friend a lift there - locals may still remember the night.

I might be able to go back now...

Ate at the Shrew for the first time on Saturday.
Both of us had Salt Beef Hash and Poached Egg to start- lovely patty style thing in breadcrumbs (decent ones) and a beautiful golden egg a piece
I had Fish pie for main which was full of fish and prawns with a rich cheddar topping of mash served with peas- I thought there wouldn't be enough but I could barely move after and had to leave some.
Wife had 8oz Fillet Steak with Stilton sauce- came with delicious twice or thrice cooked chunky chips and the masterstroke of pickled onion battered onion rings. Apparently the steak cut like butter and she does like it v.rare. I had a good dip of chips in the Stilton Sauce and it was beautifully creamy without lumps which tends to happen when I make it

Will definitely be going back
