Just when you thought it was safe to venture outside again, the youths on the noisy motorbikes are back. Been tear arsing past here the last 2 days/nights. You'd think they'd have sumat better do with their time.
Just heard some tear arsing several times around Wildwood not so long ago as well .

Hoping I'm not going to be getting my first ever speeding fine through the post . Most of the roads around sons are 40/50mph , and with no speed limit signs as I started along one road I was keeping up with the flow of traffic and creeping up to 40mph. Suddenly came up to one of those on a lamppost that flashes '30' at you if approaching faster than that...so started slowing down realising it was a 30 .....only a bloody speed camera van sitting on the grass verge as I went around the bend just after it :o
Taking note of @BobClay saying the other day about you can lose your licence on the one journey if getting caught going through several cameras (or something like that..) , pissed off a few lorry drivers tonight when having to get off the M6 as J13 was closed. No way was I going to be bullied to go any faster on the diverson route , no matter how close to my rear end they got !

Other than than that had a fantastic day attacking sons house and garden while he was at work, decs up when he came home, then a superb meal out in a pub we'd never been before :)

I can say from the 'Speed Awareness Course' that I was seriously out of touch with road law. When I passed my test the Highway Code was a small pamphlet with the odd diagram. Now it's a bloody paperback the size of 'War and Peace.' In particular most of the class had little idea of modern speed limits on vehicle classes and how to tell if you're in a 30mph speed limit. (You have to factor in street lighting.)
It's enough to drive me back onto the bike, where, as we all know, road laws don't apply. :heyhey: (Sorry Glam :P)

Not looking forwards to my drive down the motorways to the airport in a minute with these strong winds, my light car takes off sideways at the slightest puff of wind . One bad design fault of the new Vauxhall Viva! (Isn't many about in Stafford ......the salesman wasn't supposed to sell us the display model off the forecourt when they first came out , as they were supposed to be taking orders off that. But he did, I drove off in it a couple of days later, and they couldn't get another one for months after . Called in soon after to ask how the seats go down to be told "No-one has had any training on the features yet, youv'e got the only one in Stafford at the moment.)

After hubby putting his suitcase away when he came home from his work trip last night, thought things were finally 'looking up' as he usually just leaves it in the lounge for me to sort out.... This morning I couldn't find the spare medication I'd packed for him, so checked in what I thought was his empty case ..... As well as the medication , found it still half full complete with wet bathroom kit, food snacks ,paperwork, and the alarm clock in a plastic bag covered in soap  Decided after 38 years of marriage that it's a waste of time nagging , he obviously isn't taking the blind bit of notice of my :blah:

I'm back from my first Parent's meeting for Spawn2 at Rodbaston. They've said they'd like 20 more of her and are really, really pleased with her. A huge change from the girl who would barely leave her room and absolutely wouldn't leave the house. They've inspired such positive changes in her I couldn't really ask for anything more.

Actually went to the tip yesterday for the first time in years, while I had the car. (Brought sons old computer desk back with me on Monday , in bits, so that I could combine the good bits of both his and my computer desk to make one perfect one for me....thought I did a brilliant job :D )

Very thankful for the very , very nice helpful workman at the tip, who in the pouring rain helped me sling my stuff over the railings into the skip. He kindly did most of the work , as the bits I was trying to lift to launch over were in danger of missing the big skips below altogether

They are great, very underappreciated but brilliantly helpful staff at the tip, a proper credit (skill points) to them & the council.

Tried on my little black dress for the works christmas do on Saturday ... might have to forget my plan to treat myself to a Cornish pasty and big fresh cream cake from the hospital bakery tomorrow after my mammogram .

Wondering why our doctors surgery in Stafford has it got so wrong, and getting an appointment is like winning the lottery. :ohno: (I couldn't get to see a doctor last time, and had to wait 3 weeks for a telephone appointment ,despite telling the receptionist that the doctor needed to actually see me. Doctors rings me ...." Can't do that over the phone, I need to actually see you in the surgery , but will have to give you 3 months more medication to be going on with until you can get an appointment" Still got to get one ....

Son gets in that same day with his GP in Worcester each time. He rang this morning at 8.30am and got an appointment for 9.15 am this morning (They don't take advance appointments, it's ring up that day and know you will get in)

You'll find that's because Weeping Cross have a virtual monopoly across Stafford, exist solely to make money for the partners and business managers and are utter crap.

How they've been allowed to take over other, decent surgeries and turn them crap as well is beyond me.
