Stafford Rural Homes bidding position

Hey all,

Has anyone ever used the Stafford Rural Homes CBL website to bid for a property? I know it's going to take years, but looking at the website and how other counties are run, you should be able to see your current bidding position before the current week closes.

It's blank for me, has it ever displayed a position for anyone else? I'm told it's not used which is a bit strange by stafford bough council, considering other counties let you see what your position is over the years. It looks like they don't want you to know how big the queue is?

It all depends on what priority you are, generally parents with kids have no issues finding somewhere, anyone else has very little chance of securing anywhere. Probably why they don't use it, no point, there's not enough properties to cover demand.

When my eldest daughter moved to Stafford a few years ago she registered and was offered a new build 1 bedroom flat within 2 weeks.
So its very much down to what stock they have at the time after they fill the dependent needs.

Thanks All. The priority thing i understand and can appreciate it can take time. It's just how it's all advertised how it works, but in practice you can't tell what position you are at any time. It's also strange some of the lettings dates, seem to have dates from the past. just this week, one house will be ready August 2010 :)

Presumably though your position could change daily depending on who is being assessed each day

As previously stated , my daughter was successful in getting a tenancy within a few weeks.
There was no social problem, there was properties available at the time and was given a contract of tenancy once her work references had been checked.

Only when there is a shortage they need to base on priority , hence the reason you cannot see you place on thier register.

HI perry081064, I don't think you understand what im saying. I understand about priority. the guies and site says as the week goes by your postion will change which I accept, but you dont see it. from the site "The position shown is at the time of the application and may change." which should be displayed at the time of bid and change as the week goes by and when closed it can still change based on other factors. The point being from guides from staffordshire and other boroughs say you can see this information. I just wondered if this information was ever displayed from someone who has used the site before

@luke robinsno

I see what you are saying now , they have stated you can see the status and you cannot.

It may be worth setting an appointment with them to see what info they could give you.

Let us know how you get on.

Do you mean position on the bidding? So you bid on a property and then at the end of the week the property is allocated. You used to be able to see how many people bid on the property and how many people had a higher priority than you etc .this information used to be displayed , I have no idea why it isn’t shown anymore

If you're in a position to move in, but still leave a room (or two) unoccupied, that would make to process much easier.

Painting to a reasonable standard is quickly learnt and not having to continually move stuff out of the way is a great help.

Finish a room, then empty another, etc...

don't mention the blinds
Take before and after pictures, then celebrate with a drink or two.
Maybe share them on here and we can celebrate with you.
Merry Christmas .....

Or if you're like me, start at least two to three jobs in every room of the house at the same time. Then bemoan that you're not getting anywhere fast; that you're making more mess than improvement and wishing you could either afford to move or pay somebody else to actual finish what you'd started over two years ago.

Two years?

Two years?

I've been doing that since 1980...
