Read it in express and star - it said he was from Nottingham. I thought he lived in Stafford. Or is that fake information as well?

He is currently domiciled in Nottingham (for tax purposes, I believe), but I also believe that he is originally from the Stafford area.

So a genuine fake then - I'm sure there must be a rule that if you want to be mayor you got to live in the area.

Though I might be taking this more seriously than I should.....and from reading the council statement they are not taking it seriously

Shrewsbury took it quite seriously when he said that their mayor looked like a Bond villain, which he did.

I also doubt there are any residency rules.

There have been councillors (elsewhere in England) who were currently living in Thailand and Florida.......
