Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Whilst waiting my turn to join the A50 Eastwards at Uttoxeter from the left hand lane approaching the roundabout a silver Ford drew up on my left hand side.

No worries I thought he's heading towards Stoke and whilst there are only two lanes he's not in my way. Wrong!!! He proceeding to head directly for my left wing forcing me to brake and pull over towards the right hand lane causing the driver in that lane to brake sharply as well. Luckily no contact was made on either side.

Silver Ford driver sped away weaving from lane to lane undertaking cars and lorrys without a care in the World.

Just checked and his car is uninsured and not taxed so I've reported him to the police.

Not sure what his hurry was but surely nothing is worth driving like a complete idiot is there?

Apologies to the driver of the car that was following me along Chell Road this morning and nearly ran into the back of me. I was greatly impressed by your co-ordinated display of horn blasting, waving arms and impression of a steam engine. Clearly, your anger was justified as I had the stupidity to stop because the crossing traffic lights were on red. I would guess you go by the name of Richard.

Just before turning off at Junction 13 this morning got heavy side swiped by a grey van who decided he wanted to share the slow lane. More by luck than skill managed to keep on the slow lane before stopping in the safe shelter at the slip road. Fortunately this was at the road works section so speed was restricted at 50 mph could have been a different outcome if had happened at 70 mph a couple of miles further back, not having a hard shoulder is scary. Smart Motorways doesn't take in to account idiot drivers.

They shouldn't be called 'smart' motorways, there is nothing whatsoever 'smart' about them. They should be called 'do it on the cheap and kill people' motorways.
I have been having this debate with many people recently. I travel on a smart motorway every day, and have never seen an accident caused by them.

Agree but until something goes wrong you don't really appreciate the safety net of having a hard shoulder.

The idiot who started all of this said he was 'misled.' You have to wonder did he actually ever drive on a motorway ? Did he have at least one or two connected brain cells ?

The Express apparently contains some 'journalism' on the subject, illustrated with this picture.

Everybody driving in the wrong direction looks more dangerous than the lack of a hard shoulder.

They have repeatedly used this picture to illustrate UK motorway stories.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Driving into town last night about 5pm and reached the lights at Riverway. The traffic was heavy and three cars decided to sit across the yellow box and block the junction. Standard practice for everywhere and it wouldn't have been a big issue if the idiot at the front of the three cars hadn't decided to stop when the red light which didn't actually apply to him came on. He stopped where the car in the photo was and blocked the entire junction.

I've seen this happen at the lights on Corporation Street and Crooked Bridge Road but never here before.

As in going straight ahead?

I’ve seen people sit in the junction when turning right, but that’s because it desperately needs a filter light. If you don’t sit in the box you’re never going to turn right during busy periods, you’ll be stuck there

You can stop in a box junction, if you are turning right and your exit is blocked by oncoming traffic.

I often wonder if the reason they start painting hatch marks on roads is because they've run out of ideas, or it's a cheap way to solve a problem.
