Enjoying a drop of red.
The matrix sign by Lloyds Roundabout on the A34 now says the 20 weeks of roadworks will begin on the 24th and not 17th.

I surprised that the Shell Garage on Sandon Road doesn't sue the Council and/or environment agency the amount of times its been flooded.

I'm suprised they have left silkmore lane open - dread to think what's going to happen when it goes dark and somebody hits the flood at speed :-(

Can anyone confirm whether Sainsbury's/Doxey Road Car Park is flooded? And whether it is open despite any flooding - for those individuals willing to take a risk? Thanks!

the carpark was built up to reduce the frequency/severity of the flood which had become semipermanent and to be fair to the council in October and again now the river that fills Kingsmead has risen to a level never seen before at the time of planning permission being given.

Tried 2 different routes from Church Eaton to Wheaton Aston tonight and failed. It might look better in the daylight but I think I'll be going to work via Stafford tomorrow.

Is this water all just not running off, or is it actually coming in from somewhere else that’s spilling over?
Not sure, it's not my picture.

I took it to be just that the current water level on the Kingsmead marsh is above the level of the tarmac on the new car park.

Some video clips i've seen this evening show Baswich Lane, by the brides, is best only tried in a 4x4. Raining fairly heavy at the moment so it'll only be worse for the next 12-18 hours i'd guess. With all these knock ons, I'm setting off early for my trip to Rugeley!

My neighbour went out about an hour ago to commute to work (Redhill) and has just abandoned and returned home some chaos out there!

Due to flooding Doxey Long Stay and Riverside Undercroft car parks are both currently closed. There is limited car parking on other surface car parks. Waterfront Multi-Storey is open as normal. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
