If i had nothing at home i would still manage to outlast everyone on here who has commented.

quite simply in a survival scenario , i would take note of what everyone has disclosed what they have to offer and go full out rambo and attack , mame , kill and then take what i needed .

... ok , perhaps not everyone , im fussy what i eat

Long pig recipe.

I haven't run a freezer for about 25 years, since I started having more leeway about shopping - Lidl run a freezer for me these days.

I had the great good fortune to accidentally buy a secondhand Scandinova fridge freezer from Resales in 1982. Being a continental device, it has two individual compressors, so that the fridge and freezer temperature can be controlled independently and much more consistently than a 'normal' single compressor fridge freezer can be. This also means that either the fridge or the freezer can be shut down without compromising the other function. The 'freezer' is a wine cellar these days, whilst the small 'larder' fridge section trundles on using much less electricity.

^^ Handy for hiding the bodies though ;)
Chest freezers are better, if you're planning on going down that track regularly.

Surely the questions here should be
  • If the only remaining food is now out of date, would you eat it?
  • Do you have enough alcohol to outlast your food supply? And
  • If not why the hell not?
Yes.*
Yes,
Are you mad?

* I have a tin with a Keymarkets price sticker on it.

Food. Well on a minimum calorie diet, I might go a month. (Although I have some well fed neighbours .. is a supplementary food source allowed ? )

Electricity. I'm screwed on that one, everything is electric. Got candles though for light ... you bloody need em in Cornwall. :embarrass:

Booze ... fair supply. Should last a week. :pint:

But would life be worth living if I couldn't watch WestEnders or Emmerdale Street ? ... to say nothing of Hornby Hospital .. :P

If you are relying on frozen or refrigerated food it might be as well to acquire a generator and a large supply of fuel - or a large wind generator.

I do have a small battery powered inverter that will provide mains for an hour or two on low power equipment. Maybe enough to watch a couple of disked episodes of 'The Walking Dead.' :heyhey:

How far can you get in your car without putting any more fuel into it?

How much cash do you have in the house to buy goods on the black market?

Have you got any extra security measures in your home, other than that base ball bat you keep under the bed? You know, the one you did your back in trying to grab during the last storm

Answer 1
Depends on how much petrol I had to start with already.

Answer 2
None , I just use the dark web and bitcoin.
