Given the fact that the other half is currently at risk/immuno compromised, work have agreed I can work from home for the foreseeable future (normally only allow 1 day a week).

I personally don't enjoy it but needs must!!

I'm working out where I can move the TV to use as a monitor when inevitably we're both working from home. Hunched over the laptop will make it really hard...
I usually have my printer upstairs in sons old bedroom, but that has now had to come down onto the dining room table in readiness . Hubbys works computer is a massive desk top , so got to find a new home for my laptop and nice plants on the table. Rest of room will be taken up with files etc.
As well as the boss supplying extra ink and printer paper, could do with him building us a nice conservatory to fit things in......

Off for a drive to sons to drop him everything I've bought him over these last few weeks whilst he's out at work. (Including easter eggs....even though he's 24 he still gets some :D ) . Just got to sling them into his hall and do a runner . Daren't be in contact with him now as he's in close contact with hundreds of people at work. Might be a carrier even if not showing any symptoms himself. ( Some Worcester uni halls of residence are on lockdown as of yesterday. Being reviewed in 7 days time in view to closing the whole uni down and sending people back home. Son works with lots of uni students :hmm: Luckily he's fit and healthy but us old vulnerable cronies need to keep our distance from him.

Fun new development with this whatever I'm finally beating. I have completely lost my sense of smell. I can have olbas oil close enough to make my eyes water and nothing. I also have almost lost my sense of taste. I can taste coffee, honey and salt, that's it. Good job I've not much appetite anyway.

Mrs T bringing works computer home next Tuesday for a trial work from home day on Wednesday.
Rapid change of plan, they gave her a dongle today, said take your computer home and we'll see you in a couple of weeks / months or however long it needs to be. Staff wellbeing taking priority. I've set her up in the dining room and she's happy as Larry, no commute, saving on petrol etc.

Someone mentioned to me today that she had just seen someone in the southern Aldi with a trolley full of wine, which she thought was quite odd.

Until she said it, I had forgotten that I had seen (joke?) rumours being spread yesterday that Aldi and Lidl were going to stop selling alcohol to allow more shelf space for "essentials"...

I filled up with petrol at the Shell garage in Worcester on the way back tonight. 119.9 a litre there as opposed to 131.9 at the Shell on Cannock Rd by us.
They had shelves and shelves of food. Might be a bit more than the nearby Tesco (I didn't look so don't know how expensive) but now know where to tell son to go if he's desperate for essentials and Tesco shelves are completely empty again. It's only around the corner from him ;)

Rushed around like billy-o today trying to do all of today’s jobs as well as tomorrow’s jobs, the plan being that tomorrow I might take some chill out time to myself, put my feet up and catch up on a bit of reading.
I did absolutely loads, even made tomorrow’s tea (shepherds pie) ready to go in the oven.

Husband phoned at 6.00pm to say that as from tomorrow he’s working at home for “the duration”.

Typical. I can’t put my feet up tomorrow because he’ll think I sit lazing around every day.
I’ll just have to put it off and get started on Wednesdays jobs then.

With my daughter working at mc donalds she usually brings us back all the nasty bugs so even if i tried to hide away from most people , i would still be at risk.
As a carer , i,m needed , i cant risk getting ill and if i do i would need to continue through it somehow.
My daughter suffers from asthma so shes pretty much at high risk herself.

Although i'm not gonna take the piss, i'll prob need to stock up on some tinned stuffs should we be trapped in for a while.

My sons a manager in McDonalds and says he's bound to get it, or be carrying it, as he's dealing with so many customers , delivery drivers etc.
coming in coughing and sneezing everywhere. That's why he's reluctantly keeping away from us to try not to kill us off with us both in the high risk catagory.
He's going mad about all the oldies coming in paying with 'germ ridden' cash as well (He goes mad at me dealing in cash).

I put a scarf around my face when I dropped his stuff off tonight while he was at work incase anyone with the virus had been in his house. Just couldn't sling it all through the door and drive off as planned....me being me had to put the food stuff tidily away and rest displayed nicely on the table .Waiting for a telling off message when he gets back home in the early hours.

Already arguing with hubby before he's even started working from home........going to be an explosive 12 weeks or more !

I can give some advice here. Stick a gun in his ear and say: "Da ya feel lucky ... punk ?"

(One thing I'm good at ... giving advice that's about as useful as a packet of sandpaper during a bogroll shortage crisis.)

Keep seeing hubby's labware products on telly , being used for testing & research for this virus.
Better keep making him cuppas to keep him going to get it over here.

Instead of doing things, don't.

Even if everything closes, the things you need the most won't.

There will be a way to buy food and medicines and fuel for your vehicles - these things will not shut down, but other things might.

You will need to manage your boredom - this is something you are only thinking about now, so take it seriously. You need to consider that there may be power cuts because we somehow think that only NHS, Police and Fire Service personnel are critical workers, yet broadband providers, electrical engineers and sewage workers are somehow not.

Go to the toy shop on Salter Street and buy 5000 piece jigsaws - do it now, because they genuinely will run out, and will not be able to re-stock in the same way that major Grocers will. There will be no jigsaws on the shelves by Friday - you have less than a week.
