i agree they are doing their jobs to the best of their ability im sure .
everyone who can is doing what they can , more so the emergency services and care workers / support staff. i'm just putting it into the proper prospective.

Standing over someone to make sure they dont steal something at the self service till is hardly ' front line' though really.

It’s probably not the best time to put in order of whose job is most important.

These are difficult times at the moment and who knows what struggles people are going through behind closed doors?
Whether it’s practical worries, financial worries, health worries (or all 3) we’re all in this together.

It’s especially important now that we support and encourage each other, give each other a pat on the back, whatever job a person has or doesn’t have.

It’s time to be kinder to each other.

So, I'm classed as a Key Worker, the child is devestated as it seems she will have to go to school.

She doesn't want to go to school (surprise, surprise) and I don't think she should have to, I'm at a massive risk already with the amount of people I deal with at my place of work, & I need to work while I can as I believe at some point I will be ill & unable to work. She's of an age where I'm happy for her to be at home while myself & Mr Littleme work.

Can I legally keep her at home, will we get into trouble with the education authority? Does anyone know?

I imagine it’s at the parent’s discretion and it’s more of an opt-in child minding service than anything else

It seems to me that it is largely an emergency childcare provision, that you can avail of.

One of you is not a key worker, you could claim, if they bother, that you thought you weren't eligible for that reason.

I imagine Mr Littleme workplace will close shortly. With any luck him and minime will spend all day baking and cooking while I'm at work...

They are adding to the list and it's likely to include supermarket workers and pharmacy workers.

ok ok we get it , give it a rest please

.... self importance is not key involvement regardless .

its not that we are 'hard of understanding' as you rudely put it , grow up .

*Feel free to look up self importance on google should you ' not understand '.

Next week you'll know someone who knows someone close to them that's died.

The week after, you'll know someone who's died.

The week after that, we'll be in shock.

Next month you'll look back at this week like it was the last time that toilet paper was the summit of your worries.

Managing expectations, rather than hanging on in quiet desperation, has been the English way.

The time is gone, the song is over, wish i'd something better to say.

Good luck everyone. Let's keep in touch, what?
