I went to Sainsburys, Asda, Aldi and B&M this morning, not one loo roll or box of tissues could I find.
I did however get loads of tinned stuff, youngest may have to take 2 weeks leave cos his place of work may close. He will still have be fed, can't live on fresh air n council pop for the fortnight.

I noticed in the pub today that while it was busy, people were standing well apart, presumably maintaining 'social distancing,' (which is more than I can say for the supermarket !!!) although it may have been because I need to change my socks, (even though it's only March !!!)

Up all night tonight on night watch with my fur baby.
He had chipped a bone about 6 years ago that travelled down his spine and caused some damage.
Cutting a long story short it paralysed him for a while but after 6 weeks he was on the mend.

Hes suffered over the years in the colder periods with stiffness and the odd pinch of pain but that usually cleared within a day or so.

However, this last few days hes suffering badly , to the point he has completely lost the used of his hind legs.
His new vet had managed to get the history of the original accident from the specialist we was referred to at the time and determined he should be put on a strong anti inflammatory and pain killers , this was arranged without alfie having to attend.

Hes eating and drinking ok ( with assistance ) and still shows a determination to move but his body wont allow it.

It's a waiting game now over the next week to see if theres any improvement but I will admit I'm worried this time.

Hes faithfully been by my side over the years and I'm determined to do the same for him :(

I hope he gets better soon.

Our router security has decided Stafford Forum should be blocked....

Thank you , im doing my best for him but i think his toilet needs may get the better of us this time :(
i'm torn , i love him to bits and because of that my heart says this is cruel but also i dont want him to go , the responsible head on my shoulders says theres a time and its getting near that time.
hes not in pain i dont think , but im sure theres now no feeling in his hind legs and i dont want him living like this dragging himself across the floor. hes eating and drinking but even that is assisted now.
hes had the best i can give him over the years and i want him to go remembering that , not weeks of being stuck in and not being able to do anything himself.
some may say im perhaps rushing this and its too soon, however ive had my mate by my side for years and i know , i just know.

again , thanks @Lucy , im going to discuss his situation again this morning with the vet and i will make a decision based on his prognosis.

@perry081064 So sorry :(. (Sitting here with tears streaming down my face now, both thinking of your dog and remembering having to make the hard decision ourselves). Our dog used to struggle and we'd be holding her up towards the end to have a wee. The vet said while she was happy , to let her carry on . She sort of told us when the time was right though .

sorry about the outpouring earlier , many hours without sleep and i just released.
unfortunately i did that here.

we are soldiering on , hes such a fighter that i want to give him every chance possible.

gross bit warning: got him stable enough to poo outside , because daddeh looked like he was going out he dragged himself outside at the speed of light.
Now got a waterproof barrier down in the living room in case of any accidents.
Ate the rest of his food and had a drink with assistance , but aware i need to watch for complications regarding his weeing.

wife and daughter now able to take over an hour or so so im going to grab a few hours now.

feeling bit more positive for now but ill update when i have better news.

thanks for the kind words everyone, and @staffordjas please dont be sad , hes going to get through this if at all possible, hes in safe hands and hes had a great life with all the fuss he could have ever wanted.

@perry081064 So glad he's going to be be around for a bit yet, give him a cuddle from me as well.

That's what we had to keep thinking ,we got Piskie from a pound who PTS after 7 days , so gave her 18 years longer living a great life with us. Used to be able to walk and run for miles with 3 legs when she was younger, but when old age set in she'd enjoy being pushed around on holiday in sons old pushchair , complete with sons hat and glasses  .....(see avatar) .

I’ve cancelled my hair appointment and we’ve also cancelled all of our social engagements.

Husband is working from home, he also has a pre existing medical condition.
We’re staying in and hunkering down.

I decided there was no point in being careful then popping to the hairdresser. Bearing in mind that someone can be carrying the virus for five days without symptoms and a hairdresser comes into close contact with lots of people every day.

I’d rather be over cautious if possible. If a younger person catches it they will probably be ill for a week and then recover but us older ones will suffer more.

Not looking forward to the grey roots showing in a few weeks though.
A out a month ago Loreal decided the change the name of my usual home colour (5.3) from Chestnut Brown to Golden Brown and when I used it it was indeed also a different colour, and it didn't hold onto those dreaded grey hairs..

Rooting around at work yesterday & I found a very old battered box of Chestnut Brown, so phew, I'm safe for another few weeks...

If anyone has stockpiles of Chestnut Brown hanging around please contact me!

:D
