Rant as much as you need to @littleme you've earned the right to.

It must be a constant worry being in the potential firing line of the virus.

I have nothing but absolute respect for the bravery and commitment people like you and our NHS staff are showing.

I have been avoiding contact and going out due to being diabetic but may have to do a shop dash and vets visit next week.

If I do have to go shopping I could pick some shopping up for you as well and drop them at your door if it helps.

If so drop me a message and I'll see what I can do.

Thank you for the great work you and your colleagues are doing.
Thank you for the very kind offer, we will be ok, we have stored enough fat that it won't hurt to loose a bit by becoming vegetarian

It's not just NHS workers, emergency workers and key workers, everyone forgets about the Cleaners, the Posties, the Bin men, council repair men, builders, call center staff, staff of companies who will not close and are forcing their employees to work or face disciplinary action, foundrys, factories.... All the people that are self employed, the list is endless.

Stay at home.

Be kind.

Think about how you can help others.

Im glad you feel better, Ive also struggled over the last few weeks.

At the end of the day, only 3 things matter.

Look after yourself & your family, enjoy what you have, make the most of what you have, enjoy time with your children.

STAY AT HOME. I don't have a choice, I HAVE to go to work. If you have any opportunity to stay at home and isolate then DO IT, you have a massive opportunity to stay safe and keep your family safe. I don't care how bored you are, BORED IS BETTER THAN DEAD.

*sorry for the rant, .

I wish I could “like” this post a hundred times.
Don’t worry about ranting @littleme I think everyone might be having a rant over the next few weeks, emotions are running high.
You are turning up for work in difficult circumstances.

Totally agree with your “STAY AT HOME message.
There are still too many people out there who think that the rules don’t apply to them.
If more people had been intelligent and looked at what was happening in other countries and stayed at home weeks ago then we could have nipped it in the bud.

But no, off they trot to Cheltenham or concerts or whatever, and think they’re invincible.
And now look where we are, building field hospitals at the NEC.

*sorry for the rant.

Im glad you feel better, Ive also struggled over the last few weeks. I work in a supermarket, over the last 2 weeks I've worked double shifts as we are so short staffed, I've worked on all of my days off for the last 2 weeks till yesterday, I've been shouted at by customers because they can't get what they want or how many of what they want and frankly I've been spoken to like I'm shit. I've woken up every single day between 3 & 4am worrying about what's happening, thinking of things that have happened at work, worrying about my children and grandchild. Wondering when I can do my food shop. Wondering if this will ever end. Wondering if because I've had a transplant and cancer twice that ill be stopped from working. Worrying about my good friends that are also in the same position as me ( @Glam).

Be kind. Try to help where you can. Yesterday I was in a queue for the chemist, I let someone (lady with a little girl in a wheelchair) go in front of me as they were in more need than me.... Do you think anyone else before me in the queue let the same person go infront? NO & I was absoloutly disgusted - 2 even said what a kind thing to do, but they didn't do the same. Arseholes. Just be kind.

*sorry for the rant, people are twats.

@littleme it’s terrible how you have been treated, situations like this either bring out the best in people or the worst. Not that I’m making excuses for them there are no excuses.

I understand that you want to work but you have to look after you as well, if you need to take a step back then do it and don’t feel guilty about it either especially with health issues- you’re like bloody wonder woman you are!

I’ve seen on the news today a girl of 21 with no underlying health issues has today lost her fight against the virus, it’s terrible news and very scary, and as tragic as it is, hopefully will go some way to teach those who think the rules don’t apply - that they’re not invincible and there’s only one way to get through it, by following the rules.

Rant away!

Same for your message, people have a chance and they're not taking it.

M&S food shops and food halls in larger stores are remaining open (only the food halls). The first hour of trading on Mondays & Thursdays are reserved for vulnerable & elder customers, the first hour on Tuesdays & Fridays reserved for NHS & emergency workers.

I did over 7,500 steps yesterday, yet didn't even open my front door!. Supposed to be on annual leave this week and all of the easter holidays, but had a call to say work is closed for at least a month. Doesn't really make a difference other than next week to me I guess, other than I usually leave the country if I'm on AL and now I can't leave the house.

We've been asked to honour any pre-booked leave to avoid a backlog later in the year.

Luckily I've only booked a few days at the moment so won't miss/ lose much and won't be working from home on those days.

Just hoping the lockdown is lifted for a week in Norfolk and Snet BSB in July but not looking hopeful at the moment.

I've said I'm fine losing this years but a week of it was next years which I'd like to keep if possible.

Some shopping advice, this is for Sainsbury's, but I imagine all other supermarkets are doing the same.

As of today Sainsbury's will not be accepting cash payments at any of their tills, card payments only.

If you can only pay by cash you will be directed to the self scan machines where you can scan your own items & use cash to pay. Please note only a few of the self scan machines are open in order to keep people the required 2 metres apart.

Everyone must keep a 2 metre distance at all times, please be aware there may be different queueing systems, don't rush to place your items on the till belt, please observe the 2 metre lines & wait to be called. Please also understand that cashiers are waiting for their customer to completely pack, pay and leave, before calling the next customer forward.

At busy times, a one out & one in arrangement will be implemented.

Carparking is free, change can not be given for trolleys.

Please be patient.

It's interesting that the 'stimulus' package being touted in the US is to give everybody a $1,000 one-off non-refundable proverbial Three Hundred Big Boys.

That was exactly my idea in 2008 - give money to the banks and they will hoard that sh!t sooner than you can hang them from a lamp post.

Give real people money - a one-off 'no-strings-attached', non-means-tested cash sum, for everyone, and you can be damn sure they will behave chaotically with it.

Most of them will dependably go right out and spend it immediately, providing the kind of jump-start stimulus you need to de-fib the heart .

Some will spend some now, but keep some back - being not particularly secure, this cohort will actually 'trickle' it down slowly.

Those that don't need it will keep it - which means the Banks, into which the money would be deposited, have the liquidity they need to keep 'money' flowing.

If you give money to 'Finance', they will find ways to hoard it - if you give money to People, they will find ways to spend it.
