We made good use of the good weather to sort out our out-house yesterday. And of course, a fair amount of it is for chucking out. Normally I would have taken it up the tip but with that closed, it's now in the green bin, which is now full. I've held a few bags back to go in as soon as it's emptied later today.

And the new paper and cardboard bag is getting pretty full as well, almost all with paper. I wouldn't fancy lifting that in a week's time.
This was a silly idea, I'd say over half my blue bin was normally card.

Found a place to store my blue bag...in the brown bin for now. ( Luckily only small amount of grass cuttings this time in it, got rid of loads last collection day)
Might have to tip the bin up to get it out next though, should imagine it could be rather heavy in a fortnight's time.

Wondering how long all the brown bins still out on the pavement are going to sit there...

Won't have to mow my lawn anyway now whilst hubby confined to the house...he's getting his exercise walking round the garden, flattening it all down:roll:

Haven't received my blue bag yet and collection day is tomorrow. I am supposed to just put the card in the blue bin as normal or what?

What a daft idea this is.The cost of manufacturing of these bags to use. When we all stil have a caddy which is fit for purpose

Anyone want to do an FOI to see how much they paid for the bags and how much precisely this new regime saves the tax payer per year?

It is certainly unfortunate timing - one hopes they'll maybe consider a brown bin collection in a fortnights time, manpower allowing, so that those with outside space can use it.

Ultimately, a focus on general waste and recyclables is the right call if you had to ditch one of the three.

Everyone ready for their blue bags to run away as it’s pretty damn windy today?

Family of 2 here, and I doubt most weeks it'll be even half full. Even though we've just had a clear out, there's still a fair amount of room, though it is quite heavy with all the paper.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
What’s a blue bag? We haven’t received ours yet. I’m fully expecting the bin men NOT to empty my blue bin this week because of this.

When they emptied them and put them back around here on wednesday, luckily it was a calm day as they didn't collapse them down at all. Just put them back stood upright and fully opened up.
