I keep looking at my lawn and thinking it needs some "weed-and-feed".

This'll be another area where the supermarkets do well. I probably can't justify a trip to B&Q or a garden centre to get some Evergreen whereas I can go on a detour round the gardening aisle when I'm next in Asda buying groceries.
B & Q and garden centres are shut anyhow.

My campaign for real ale membership card came today with £30 of 50p off a pint vouchers.

Not sure whether I'll get a chance to use them this year the way things are going just now.

At least they've made all of the vouchers valid throughout the year instead of limiting batches of them for certain months during the year.

Situation under discussion, they might be extended. Remember they are not just valid at Wetherspoons now so when things reopen you can use them at the likes of Hogarths & the Yard. Oh joy, I wonder why I never use them.

These are valid until April 21 and I agree about Hogwarts.

I usually use my vouchers in the Waterhouse in Manchester which is a nice Spoons.

Having a bit of a tidy-up in my chalet, I found an old travel hair-drier that my father used to use to very effectively fan the fire into life and, therefore, I have just washed my hair in my non-suite shower room.

So, I'm just finishing a small bottle of Henessey brandy that was foisted on me at Christmas, for fixing a cherished watch-strap.

And I'm settling down now for an evening of McGoohan, Bolam and Flynn, with a garnish of Dudley Sutton.

Awake at 5:30 (most unusually for me), due to a bright dawn, earlier than I expected this far west, and a totally unnecessary amount of shouting from the birds.

The fire is going nicely.

We now have a countrywide "confined to barracks" order until Easter Sunday (at the earliest), with small exceptions.

Now that is what you call a kettle! We used have one like that when we were kids. Lived on the fire.

I discovered yesterday, via a conversation with a passing exerciser over the front wall, that my oldest friend has had a fall a few days ago, but seems to have got away fairly lightly, at least nothing is broken.

When I say 'oldest friend', I mean it in two senses, she's due to turn 100 in a few weeks - and, although I have no clear memory of the actual event, it seems fairly likely that hers was the first face I saw when I emerged from my initial nine month period of isolation, due to her being on hand when I was born in the house next door.

She's a fairly hardy type - a couple of years ago, she was in need of a hip replacement, but the surgeon 'strongly advised' against it - however, she basically bullied him into it and it was a great success, although he and the anaesthetist admitted afterwards that they had both been terrified of killing her...

After breakfast, I've been up to the non-suite for my ablutions and the daily washing-up event.

A factor which came to notice over the last two evenings was getting cold feet, once physical activities had largely ceased for the day. As a result, I have had the household staff retrieve these for me from my room in the Big House. We'll see if that improves matters for this evening's viewings of the second episodes of The Prisoner and The Beiderbecke Affair...

Finished a month of nights at 07.30am yesterday, I'm back in for 07.00am tomorrow morning.
I'm so tired I could curl up on Sainsburys carpark, using the kerb as a pillow and sleep for England.
I had a 2hr nap yesterday afternoon after I finished work, then was asleep again by 10pm. Still wide awake by 3am again though.

2 days off now then double shifts till next Sunday

I stayed awake all day yesterday, well over 24 hours. Went to bed at 9pm, was awake by 1, drifted back off and woke at 4am. I seriously am too tired to cry.
