I stayed awake all day yesterday, well over 24 hours. Went to bed at 9pm, was awake by 1, drifted back off and woke at 4am. I seriously am too tired to cry.
It's so horrible isn't it? It didn't help that I couldn't talk to you today, love our giggles...I got to work and debated sitting in the car and crying for a good hour, but held it together enough to get in the building, nearly lost it in the lift, the cloakroom, the toilet, and just before I went out the doors onto the shop floor...

But, I got through the day, 90% of customers were amazing, 100% of staff were amazing and I had a good day.

Sending you a massive virtual hug (you know I don't hug), we will all get through this, just keep on going on, things will get better, eventually. Xxx

Yeah, would've been nice to have had a natter. I know that lady was only doing her job, but she was winding a few in the queue up.
We aren't helped at work cos we use a lot of bank and agency staff, I'd hate to think what the budget for staffing is at the moment. If they turn up, you just hope they work and not sit round on their phones all night.
What won't help, is if we get the virus on the ward. No-one can go to another ward till it's cleared up, so a lot of people will be losing money. That's when you get people cancelling shifts. Leaving the substantive staff to do all the work on low numbers. Therefore leaving the ward in a precarious position. I do love my job, just not all the time.

Keep going, it won't be forever, we have the same problem with staff, but your job is so much more horrific than mine, at least my 'customers' understand the 'rules' (sometimes)

And, anymore posts about corona virus after 7pm and I'm replying with pictures with Jason Mamoa... brightening the nation, picture by picture..

This.... for NHS workers...

I actually find that really rude.

I’m hugely appreciative of the NHS workers at the moment, in fact I’m hugely appreciative of ALL those key workers going to work at the moment, whether it’s Police, Paramedics, Shop Workers, Fire Brigade, Nursing Home workers, Care Home workers, all the community people out there looking out for neighbours and anyone else that I haven’t listed but who is out there being phenomenal.....thank you.

But for someone from the NHS asking us not to clap?

Why? We think you deserve more pay. That’s why we’re clapping, we are supporting you.
Please don’t take your well deserved frustrations out on those who are on your side.

Our clapping came from the heart and I do know that it was appreciated by quite a few.

It’s not aimed at you. It’s aimed at the millions that voted for the party that consistently destroy the NHS, and Boris who was outside No10 clapping along like he wasn’t complicit

Unfortunately that’s the majority of the voting populous.

I noticed today that some of the car parks were closed at Cannock Chase.(for Corona Virus).
I couldn’t actually work out why, because The Chase itself was open.
So by closing the car park and installing barriers, it just meant that every lay-by and all along the road in front of the barrier was wall to wall cars...so they just moved the problem elsewhere.

Well, the spokesperson should have perhaps articulated it better then.

I know that they were directing their frustrations at the Government, but the people who turned out to clap were from all political persuasions.

Directing the anger to those who came out in support was nothing short of an insult, just someone pointing their anger in the wrong direction.

I’d say that person was speaking for themselves and not for the majority.
Most NHS workers were quite emotional at the clapping.

SAME !

We had quite a few NHS workers in our road joining us with the the clapping. In fact they were the ones leading it, and last ones to stop clapping.

I had a night with friends over Skype last night. I recommend it. Not my friends though. Your own.
Son and his mates have somehow been having 'nights out clubbing' online from their own homes . Sent me a video of his TV , complete with him and his mates images on the screen . This modern day technology is amazing !

It's been made clear that Cannock Chase is only open to those who live there, or those carrying out one of the essential roles. No one else should be driving there.

#THREAD There’s been some confusion around whether people can visit and exercise in the Staffordshire countryside, including Cannock Chase, the Roaches and other country parks.

We’re asking you not to visit these areas and to stay close to home to exercise for daily exercise, as per the government guidelines on social distancing.

We understand that there’s a small number of people who live within these immediate areas who may continue to walk dogs and exercise, but cars should only be used for essential journeys and not to travel somewhere to exercise.

We all need to work together to prevent the spread of #COVID19, protect the NHS and save lives. Thank you for your support in staying at home and avoiding unnecessary travel. The beautiful Staffordshire countryside will still be there in a few weeks for us all to enjoy

Out west, we have a 2km limit on our radius of action for allowable exercise, not that I am even allowed outside the gate yet. There is a handy programme that will display a map using your current location data to show you your radius - beyond that, you need to have a good excuse for being there.

My trusty old Getz, now immobile here for a few days yet, doesn't have a temperature gauge, but has 'cold' and 'hot' warning lights. I note that my 'cold' light goes out as I would be leaving my 2km zone.

It was clear this morning that, despite the outside temperature being barely 3C and with a stiff breeze, my Chalet is rather more habitable. I presume that three days of steady heating have stored a good bit of energy in both the structure of the building and the many tons of material and tools stored in here.

I foresee a day of reorganisation inside.

And, may I welcome you all back into my time zone this morning.

If it stays bright, you will really see the benefits this evening.

I’m cleaning, again. I’ve barely stopped cleaning for the past week.

my house is a tip, again and I’ve barely stopped cleaning all week.

My kids haven’t got actually dressed for 3 days, gather the washing baskets thinking I might get a load together, haha silly me, I’m 4 loads down and probably two more to go and that’s before I strip the beds.

at least it’s a good drying day.

I slept from 10.30pm last night, to 7am (or is it 8am) this morning, heaven.

Had to go out earlier for essentials, it was just like Sundays used to be, very little traffic & I only saw 2 other people while I was out.

I was slightly alarmed at the change in speed limit on the rds, what was 30mph now seems to be 60mph! :lorks:

Ah, ok thank you for the information.
I’m not on Twitter or Facebook so I’d missed that information.
I was reading the news yesterday that said some police forces were saying that you couldn’t travel for exercise whilst the government hadn’t specifically said that you couldn’t. **

I’ve been doing all my walking locally but yesterday I went to get a newspaper from the petrol station and as it was so near to the Chase I thought that I’d do the dog walk there.

I’d got talking (at a long distance) to a lady who had driven over from Wildwood. She said that Wildwood was so packed with walkers that it was actually quite hard to keep a safe distance.

** Edited to say that I’ve just checked and the Government advice has been updated to say don’t travel to exercise but stay local.
