Seems the UK is only counting virus deaths that happen in a hospital, and leaving those in care homes etc. off statistics. Not worrying at all.

I said at the start if you don't test you can play it down, as you are acting based on available data. Anyone that's worked in statistics knows the best way to get the picture you want is to control how the question is asked.
Part of the problem is separating the signal from the noise, and there's plenty of noise anyway even just counting deaths in hospitals without counting deaths in care homes as well.
Bare numbers are one thing, but I always like to see the trend. Here's the five point moving average following today's figure for deaths in the UK (563).

Note that the figure for March 25th is an estimate. They changed the reporting times on that day and it produced a significantly low figure.

It was interesting to hear the wonk put in front of the microphone today.

The 'Banks' owe us - we bailed them out to the tune of Billions of $'s in 2008.

Let them, and the Financiers that bankroll them, cut us the slack that we cut them.

There are $000,000,000,000's of Funny Money (there is no need for a 1 in front of them, none of them are real but that's what a Trillion looks like) stored off-shore - one Billionaire could bankroll millions of 'minimum wage' workers for thousands of years, and there are more than 2,000 Billionaires to vie to hold the honour of being the one that does it.

There is an easy way out of this, or one that will be a lot harder for everyone.

The choice is either yours, or it will be ours.

Getting a bit too close to home ! Just heard hubbys cousin has died from Coronavirus. Had been in hospital to have a lump removed from his lungs. Op went well, but whilst recovering in hospital he caught Coronavirus in there and died last night. :(

Very sad. Not a good time to have a health issue of any sort.

Posted on March 19th by @Withnail ....

Next week you'll know someone who knows someone close to them that's died.

The week after, you'll know someone who's died.

The week after that, we'll be in shock.

Next month you'll look back at this week like it was the last time that toilet paper was the summit of your worries.

They are saying that it can be part of the symptoms, but by far the main symptoms are still a temperature and cough.

Corona or otherwise I am feeling a bit ropey.

Just dog tired? Like when your so tired your eyelids ache, and a 37.9 temp.

I’ve definitely got a mild dose of something.

Do you know what your baseline 'normal' temp is?

Hope you feel better soon.

Interesting, we're both really tired at the moment. I've gone from up at 6 regardless of no work to lucky to get out of bed by 9, and I'm flagging again by 4pm. Also headaches and dizziness, but no symptoms like a cough.

Had an email from work yesterday, they are no longer going to top up our wages so we're just on 80%. I had 11 days holiday booked but my questions about getting them back have gone unanswered, surely they can't pay me 80% and still take my holidays though, as I'm officially furloughed?

Just searched eBay for disposable gloves for if I venture to do shopping or petrol and there are some being sold as "used"!!!!

I hope these are just mistaken categorisations by the sellers but there were quite a few of them.

Hopefully it is just the boredom of not being able to get out and about and you'll feel better soon.

I heard something about being able to take your annual leave over the next two years and the Government were making companies offer this.

I'm not sure if it applies to pre-booked leave though.

NR sent an email yesterday saying that we can postpone leave if we have good reason but asked to honour any pre-booked leave.

I had previously offered to just request back one week, as they were doing me a favour by topping up my wages. My letter states I am furloughed from March 27 but my payslip for March has a full week of furlough on it. Also this means I'm not only getting just 80% pay for my annual leave, but that the government are paying it so my employer gets away with having my leave paid for them.

If I'm on leave I want full pay, if the government are paying for this period I want my leave back as otherwise my employer is profiting from this :grr:

I'm lead to believe you cannot be furloughed whilst on holiday and is therefore cancelled and returned to you to use at a later date. If you choose to take your holiday instead it is considered you worked that week for the purposes of furlough if the holiday stops you achieving 3 weeks of continuous furlough you will not receive furlough pay.

Glad you put this on. Sent son a screenshot of this, as he's got quite a few odd days holidays booked over the next month or so and he's being furloughed.

Thanks for that. I'll be doing more research before an email on Monday, I'm more annoyed that they haven't bothered to answer as if they intended to return my holiday a yes is very straightforward to send.

It was on the daily news conference early this week that annual holiday could be carried over for up to 2years for furloughed staff. You should be able get all the info on the .gov website. The minister admitted that there’s a lot of confusion over it, funny have the confusion seems to work in “their” favour.

It's not just furloughed staff, it's any staff unable to take their leave.

They've amended the Working Time Regs to cover it.

It makes sense to avoid a massive backlog of leave to be taken this year, assuming the furlough ends sometime this year.

We've been asked to use 25% of our leave in the first quarter. No one is being furloughed though so it's a fair compromise.

I have to be honest with you all, I'm really glad in a way that i've had to go to work during this time.
I suffer dreadfully from depression at times, and being cooped up at home and not being allowed to leave the house,
would seriously impact on my mental health.
Unfortunately, or not as the case may be, I start 8 days annual leave from 20.30hrs tmrw. I may be posting stuff that makes absolutely no sense at all.
Would you notice the difference?
I could possibly make a trip to every alcohol aisle in town, buy up all the cider and just get off my trolley.
