I was on the phone today chatting to a friend, she was saying that a friend of hers wasn’t understanding the social distancing thing.

I said “It’s ok in our village, everyone seems to be taking it on board. Certainly whenever I’m out walking with the dog, I’ve noticed that people are crossing over the road to avoid contact”

Husband had been listening in the background and pipes up
“Carole, people have always crossed the road to avoid you, its nothing to do with coronavirus.”

:(:(

You will need to manage your boredom - this is something you are only thinking about now, so take it seriously.
There will be no jigsaws on the shelves by Friday .

@Withnail posted the above on March 17th, just over 2 weeks ago.

Yes, you were absolutely right about this @Withnail

At the time of writing, currently all jigsaws online on WS Smith, Hobbycraft, John Lewis etc all sold out online, charity shops and markets closed, so prices are skyrocketing on eBay and Amazon.

I actually saw a jigsaw for sale for £87 on eBay by some profiteering cowboy.

But seriously, even second hand jigsaws on eBay that couldn’t be given away 3 months ago are all selling very quickly.

:o Glad I had loads bought me for Xmas which I haven't done yet. Got no table to do them on at mo though, as it's been taken over as part of work from home office. Previously completed ones bought from charity shops have already been recycled back into the system.

Just received a photo of sons New hair do, done with his razor...thought the skin head look was photo shopped at first, until the next photo of bathroom sink complete with head full of hair was followed by a video :lorks:
He's relying on no-one seeing him during this lockdown, and it growing back by the time he goes back to work ..

I have waist length hair, I do have to blow my own trumpet here and say it's in lovely condition and of course, the colour is a beautiful Ginger.
I've always wanted to shave my hair off, Like Demi Moore did in GI Jane, or do a Britney Spears. I may be a little nuts, but I'm not that bad!
I really think i'd get a few funny looks if I did it tho.
Maybe when I won the lottery and can hide away in my hovel for 6 months at a time.

There's a number of free aps that make jigsaws out of your photos, they can be good fun.
These are the sort of "puzzles" I'm into - a solo wargames. Not quite as easy to pick up as a jigsaw, and likelihood is that you'll lose, but a tad more mentally challenging.

I crossed-over Stockton Lane three times yesterday to avoid people. I reckon the government should bring in a system whereby you're required to walk on the same side of the road as the traffic - keep to your left. (Yes, I realise this goes against the guidelines about always facing oncoming traffic.)

I noticed today that it's always me who's crossing over. One bloke walking his dog today did actually stop and let me get in front as we were approaching the same junction, which was good and thoughtful of him. The rest were just spread out and had no intention of moving over to create more space. Did loads of detours and backtracking to be able to keep a safe distance.
The other day I'd crossed over, a bloke cycles past and up onto the pavement to stop right in front of me while he waited for the person he was with to catch up . I ended up walking in the middle of the road.
Decided to go down the fields for the last half of this mornings walk and people were keeping their distance. Realised how unfit I've become though when I climbed the steep hill to get back onto the ringroad. Struggling to breath at the top....really need to get my fitness back super fast!

We appear to have bumble bees residing in a bird box on the garden wall, angry buzzing as the wife tried to tidy it up, told her to leave it alone and see what happens!
You've reminded me to look for my bees. We get them every year some where either on the house or in the garden. I really enjoy watching them come and go.

We’ve had texts from Virgin last week. Unlimited texts & calls plus extra 10gb data from March 25 to April 24.
Nice gesture but we’ll be mostly using WiFi for the foreseeable. I wonder if that’s what they’re hoping for or am I just getting cynical?

There are still people having to go out to work, their break & lunch times might be the only times that they can use their phones to search for information & help. My work provides WiFi, but it's useless & will hardly stay connected.

Burnt my hand :( Luckily got quick reactions so not too bad though . Did a stupid thing ..put the oven dish onto the top of the oven as usual to cool down whilst eating my dinner. Washed up afterwards, grabbed the oven dish and it was scalding hot. The gas on the hob had been left on low instead of turned off, nicely heating up the oven dish!

I have a pair of screw-on shrouded croc clips that attach to the end of the test meter leads for hands-free use. They can be extremely hard to locate when you want them, as they don't get used very often.

I opted to move them to the Electrical drawer out west, but there was no sign of the black one when i got there - that was in September, I think. The missing one has been on the 'Keep An Eye Out For...' list since then.

This sort of thing.

There has been no sign of it anywhere since then.

Until now.

Digging up a bit of the gravel drive to sieve it before replacing the gravel without the washed-in mud with it, I noticed a shiny object reflecting the Sun a few yards away - the missing clip, presumably having fallen from the car during unloading.

The list of missing items has been amended.

Today has been a better day. Going for a 6 mile walk to the shop in Gnosall helped I think.

I realise it's the shopping that's causing me to worry. I don't really like shopping but I go often, there's shops close enough to work to pick up supplies in my 30 minute lunch break. Because I'm shopping for my Dad too I spend most of my week obsessively planning how I'm going to do it. It's the one thing in my life I can still control.

Shopping is horrible, few people observe the rules, do what's best for you.

I'm struggling with work still, but mostly I'm struggling with having no 'alone time', I go to work and I'm surrounded by people who all want to talk about the same thing, colleagues and shoppers, I go home and there is no let up.... there are now permanently 2 people in the house that never leave, they want to talk to me about my day, about their day, about what they've seen on the internet/news/friends/blogs...it's just too much.

I used to get home and have some downtime before everyone else arrived home, now I'm surrounded by people 24/7.

For it is said "There shall, in that time, be rumours of things going astray. And there shall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base that has an attachment."

Thank you for still going to work.

I don't have an answer, but I know I'm spending far more time in the bath than I ever have done. The OH isn't a talker but he's normally away 3 nights a week so to have him here ALL THE TIME is something I've never been used to in the 10 years I've known him!
