Well, when all this is over, and we can get back to whatever is classed as normal, can't you as those that be to start it again?

That's brilliant. If only we still had a scarecrow competition.

We haven’t got best kept village competition but it was decided to go ahead with the scarecrows.
Most people keep their scarecrow from the previous year and just do something different with it, also a lady in the village had several given to her and she’s offered them to anyone that wants one. So people can join in without making any unnecessary journeys for straw etc.
It was thought that it would cheer things up a bit for those on their daily walk.

Another thing we are doing in the village is putting teddies in the window, either upstairs or downstairs.
If anyone has children, again on their daily exercise, they can play hunt the teddy.

Ordered my next butchers home delivery. Getting rather popular though, earliest a week on Friday and possibly week after that. As long as something comes eventually...

Waiting for farm shop to ring to say what's available on my ' wish list' from them.
Ordered really healthy stuff last time, but this times order includes ,as well as all the fruit & veg & dairy, goodies like family size sponge cake, egg custards and a big tub of ice-cream :D

Don't think my plan to come out of this super slim is going to materialize some how!

We've tried to be healthy while self isolating at home, daily walks, eating well and cutting down on the booze.
I've not been drinking in the week at all, it makes the weekend more special.
Today, however felt like summer, so we sat in the garden with a bottle of red from Wolseley Wine Loft followed by a lovely home made beef casserole.
Absolutely gorgeous evening and for a few hours totally forgot about the other thing.

Front and back lawns mowed. I find it a very satisfying job. Hot but worth it.
That's a lovely big garden . Could do with a lawn that size to do my daily exercise . Going a bit sick and dizzy seeing hubby walking round and round our small lawn to get his daily walk in.

Turned my garage into an exercise studio , got the laptop in with the aim of both of us prancing around the garage daily.

Starting hubby off slowly with a series of youtube 'walking ' sessions

intending to build him up to eventually doing my harder aerobic DVD's .....

One of my neighbours started mowing their lawn today, just before 7am. If I find this is going to be a regular event I might have to look into how to booby trap lawns.

Take up thy bed and...

...consider sleeping in the house tonight.

My fourteen days is up and I still have no warning signs.

In other news, I have cycled* to the chemist for the final month of my mother's three month prescription - they dole it out in months, for added freshness. I was served via the cat flap in the door - an actual cat flap, set at counter height as an impromptu segregation facility.

Either that, or they have a cat with extraordinarily long legs.

A shopping trip is also being contemplated - possibly even tonight, to get a quieter experience.

The eagle-eyed may also have spotted my other's solar-powered Seiko - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/bargain-boast.11626/page-18#post-391282 - this had just got to the end of its charge, due to the winter darkness and the continuous covering of the wrist area. A full day's charge will keep it going for months and, next winter, a day on a sunny windowsill around Christmas will probably carry it through.

* My first excursion beyond the gate for a fortnight.

Today, I saw ......... firmer league footballer Nigel Callaghan at Tesco in a Coronavirus mask!
Quite possibly the only person that recognised him!

Because quite a few of us in the village are choosing to stay in, we are therefore finding interest in the smallest of things.

Imagine the excitement when I get a phone call “cows on the loose in the village, do you know the farmer?”

I did know the farmer, but in between me calling him, and him arriving (about 3 minutes) much amusement was had, neighbours coming out to have a gawp.
The cows had turned up in our cul de sac, wandering into various gardens and distributing free manure wherever they felt the need.

Such fun!
