Did it? I need some stuff but am scared of how big queues are likely to be!
Yep, they've opened quite a few nationwide, it looks like it's all the bigger warehouses. Stafford, Meir, Hanley & Cannock are all open but the smaller Uttoxeter branch isn't on the list. According to the website they're set up inside the same as supermarkets etc with one way systems & floor marking to ensure social distancing. The stupid thing about it is that, according to the website, they've stopped doing online ordering & click & collect etc so you've got no option but to go in the queue & mix bodily fluids.

"To everything there is a season
And a time to every purpose under heaven"

And the time to shop at B&Q is when the rush has died down and it's a bit quieter.

Exactly.
Look at these pictures. Have people forgotten? Or don’t they care that people are standing so close to each other?

Quite frankly they no longer seem to care, they're completely ignoring the 1 person per household, and 2 meter distancing rule where I work, fortunately all the staff are on form so we're often seen as being to strict with customers.

You just cant win sometimes...

I think people see the numbers coming down and think we're all safe, not understanding that it's an artificial dip as we're mostly at home.

I don't think it's coming down, it's just that they don't do the paperwork over the weekend.

Neighbours next door but one had a bbq yesterday, with relatives and other neighbours going round, and the other next door but one is carrying out the usual drug delivery service...

Exactly, if you ever see the graphs they put on the daily update there's been a decent drop every Sunday & Monday then it goes back up Tuasday/Wedneasday. Even the "experts" have pointed it out & blame it on weekend delays in reporting the figures. When will people realise this is going to go on for many months yet.

Glad I'm not the only one that's noticed this....

Apologies I didn't mean today's death rates, I meant the plateauing of the cases etc.

The parachute analogy that has been shared round Facebook is by far the best I've seen.
"Cases", in the UK context, is subject to interpretation, to quite a large degree....

We cobbled together a scarecrow.
It’s not really in our skill set, we have no imagination, and It’s a bit rubbish compared to all the other brilliant offerings in the village.
But it’s the thought and effort that counts, I think.
Weather permitting, we’re doing the Stay At Home Street Party for VE Day so we thought we’d advertise that.

The reported deaths in UK hospitals due to Coronavirus are coming down.

Compare today's figure to last Sunday's and it's lower.
Compare yesterday's figure to last Saturday's and it's lower.
Compare Friday's figure to the previous Friday's and it's lower.
Etc etc.

Looks a bit like Daenerys Targaryen to me. (Best not piss her off, bloody dragons are a bit much to deal with on top of all that's going on.)
