Fair enough.

The way I'm looking at it is I need to keep my family safe, so whilst there are all these wishy washy rules it doesn't mean I have to go as far as they let me, I will continue to do what I think is best because it hasn't gone away at all.

Agreed.

That’s very interesting.

We still haven’t been to a pub, a restaurant or even had a takeaway.
I’d also be happy to eat outside if the situation arose which it hasn’t.
We did say that we need to perhaps start eating outside somewhere to support local businesses.
We considered doing the BBQ thing for husbands team because it’s a small team and the garden has enough seating areas that everyone could social distance adequately. But actually we most probably won’t.

I've just travelled on a bus and a young lady got on a few stops after me without a face covering.

She sat too far away from me to challenge her but when I got off I asked the bus driver why he didn't remind her to cover her face.

He got really aggressive and said was it wasn't his job and he wasn't a police enforcer.

I said surely he should be reminding people of the legal requirements but his response was again totally dismissive.

He shut up when I asked him at the top of my voice so that the other passengers could hear if he had a duty of care to his passengers and if so why was he blatantly neglecting it?

I don't expect bus drivers to enforce the law themselves but I expect them to challenge passengers so that the rest of us aren't unnecessarily endangered.

There is some enforcement of public transport masks on the island to the west, you are at risk of having your ticket punched with teethmarks.

Although, this may be overdoing it a bit.

We are “quite new”, we’ve only been here 20 years and got accepted into the fold 10 years ago, once they realised that I was a good organiser and could help with the village fete.

Today I learned that villages give off a bit of a "cultish" vibe.

Anyone tripped and fallen on their garden shears lately?

I expect that bus drivers are similar to us shop workers, we have no rights to ask someone why they aren't wearing one, we can't refuse entry if a customer isn't wearing one.

Quite frankly we have all had enough abuse working the entire way through this without now having to challenge what could be peoples perfect right not to wear them. It really isn't our job, we don't have the authority to do anything about it. The police are the only people who can, and frankly have better things to do.

Again do all you can to keep yourself & yours safe. It's all you can do. (or like me, give them evil dagger eyes (my usual look anyhow), and think, 'what a numpty'!).

But surely he could have politely reminded the young lady about wearing a face covering.

As I said I'm not suggesting that any customer facing staff should confront someone to enforce the law but I have seen other drivers ask in a non confrontational manner and the passengers in question have genuinely forgotten and complied.

I think it is only reasonable to expect them to remind people for everyone's safety including their own.

By the way the Sainsbury's security guard reminded me about wearing a face mask as I was queueing outside the other day.

People make the mistake of thinking that Midsomer Murders is fiction, when in fact it's a documentary series.

That being said, if they did an episode based in Bednall, it would have to be aired post watershed, with multiple advisories.

I would hazard a guess that the first victim may be approaching his 50th this week.

I haven't got a clue who the prime suspect might be but their alibi might be that they were away in a motorhome somewhere!!!

They could call it 'The Village of the Damned' except they used that title up for the already perfectly titled ' The Midwich Cuckoos.' :|

Thirteen positive tests (as of yesterday) from people who were in the Crown & Anchor in Stone on the weekend commencing July 17th - apparently.

Plenty of time for it to have escalated recently...
I read somewhere 13 up to yesterday and a further 5 posative today, (18 in total) all from the c&a... I may have that wrong though...

I am increasingly sceptical about the numbers reported above now...

Posts on local forums and Facebook pages by relatives of people testing positive suggest that the figures are in the right region. Roughly now equates to 18 positive tests from people who were at the pub plus 3 contacts of people who were at the pub.
