Went to Sainsburys with youngest this dinnertime, no problems, nice lady on the door, requesting people hang back just to let those in front get inside the shop. Once inside, everyone kept their distance, A couple of older customers obviously weren't too sure how to wear their masks, had them positioned beneath their noses. we all queued sensibly at the end aisle while waiting for a till to become free. Marks out of ten = 9.
Went home, unloaded the few bits we'd got, then I headed to Lidl on my own, took the wrong turning and ended up at B&M and Aldi. (Just don't ask)
According to those inside B&M AND Aldi, there is no social distancing at all, everyone is allowed stand within 6 inches of you, reach across to grab stuff and physicall touch you in the process. Out of 10 - B&M = 1 Aldi = 0
I finally arrived at Lidl, expecting more of the same. I was wrong, everyone kept a distance from one another. Out of 10 = 9

I've found Aldi to be really good, although I tend to go about 5.30 when it's quitened off somewhat.

TBH out of all the shops I have been most comfortable in Lidl, it has a nice combination of not being ordered around but everyone knowing not to be a nob.

Had a natter with the girl on the till, they don't have a guard anymore, so it is a free for all going in, but she reckoned people are generally keeping their distance and not being daft.
Still prefer Sainsburys tho, I supposed it's what you get used to.
I'm back in work Monday, now the visitors are back, i'm not looking forward to it.

I've avoided big supermarkets throughout all this, purely because I saw big queues outside and didn't want that much exposure to others. In a weird way I'm enjoying the quiet lockdown has created, I'm now torn between not wanting to return to work and desperately hoping I still have a job.

Sooooo a question from @BobClay's nuclear bunker why did you end up at B&M and Also?

TAKE COVER :)
Lmao! Well........... my excuse is, there were a lot of cones (According to the signs, it's for social distancing???) and I got confused, and forgot where I'd told youngest I was going.
It wasn't till I was looking at the chicken in Aldi that I remembered I was meant be going Lidl. (Me mum was a natural blonde).
B&M didn't have the washing up liquid I wanted, Persil, so even tho I got other stuff, it was a waste of a journey.
Managed get all I wanted in Lidl tho.
Christopher Columbus would never had trusted me to circumcise the world with him, I'd've got us lost!

I've got enough food in to last till September ... my local pub is open with really quite sensible measures .. (one way system, stop at the entrance and ring a bell, table service only ... ) so beer isn't a problem. Holiday season is in full swing down here, and I don't decry that because businesses have been collapsing left right and centre. And that's all there is apart from agriculture and the building trade. Our local B & M in all fairness has made the effort, but it seems to me the influx of holiday makers has put their efforts to the test.
Rock and a hard place comes to mind. :|

Those cones! We got stuck today, we're nearly late for minims 2nd opticians appt (you'll be glad she can see now).

We had an hour to kill between picking up the new glasses, I walked up to market Square, through the Guildhall and out by the market - in that time I was so horrified by how many people were about and how close that they all were that I ended up dragging the minime into Sainsbury because its "safe".

I did manage to go to Tesco & The Range after, and they were both ok, no panic attacks happened. Later I had to walk to the local co-op after forgetting the bread that we needed.

5 places in one day.

Following on from this ^^^^
I decided today I was going to go the land of Pound and Wilkies. Took a mask with me, used it in both shops. I wish I hadn't bothered! Poundland, folk were squashed in like sardines, there was 1 bloke with a persistent cough, walking round, no mask on. It was the older ones that seemed say sod it to keeping their distance, the younger members of society, wore masks, kept a distance and were generally politer.
Wilkies, lovely lady on the main door, said it was ok go in, there weren't that many inside at the time. Didn't need a coin for the trolley either, cosmic.
I was all for giving them 10 out of 10, got outside with the trolley and there was a couple there waiting for 1, the member of staff sat outside wasn't the same one as when I went in, she took the trolley off me, didn't wipe it down, and handed it to the waiting couple.
On the massive plus side tho, Wilkos have not got Radox Original in!!! There's a choice of 2 sizes of bottle, but both the same price?? I'm not as daft as I look, got 2 of the bigger bottles for 2 quid each and a box of the bath salts. The same bubble bath was going for over £5 a bottle on EBay when it was discontinued.

Finally crumbled and bought one of these phasor guns that you point at your head and get your body temperature. (There's nowt like putting a tube full of deadly Mercury in tut gob for temperature but young uns today ave all turned into Southern Jessies. :P )

So, I retired to my study, pointed the weapon at my head, and there was the sound of a 'beep' and it said I'm 37 dead on. (None of yer plus or minus half a degree bollocks.)

37 eh ? Should I dance out of the room like Fred Astaire on steroids ? ... Last time I was 37 Thatcher was in power. She was succeeding where Admiral Karl Dönitz had failed. He'd have given his left arm to pull off what she did ... (mind you, we'd all be speaking German now if he'd succeeded.)

F**k it, I'll stick with the age I've got.
