Madford mini roundabout now has a pair of temporary lights on it, with single-lane working, but they don't seem to be functioning - however, you can easily see the other light and nip through when you get fed up waiting.

It is not immediately apparent how you should proceed through the cone forest - take your time - the signage is not much help.

Also, some 'amusing' half-wit had decided to place the No Parking cones across the road.

Anyone know what’s going on with the Queensville roundabout ? Are they going to landscape it and plant bushes, flowers and a ’sponsored by’ sign ?
Or is it a more prosaic reason - a convenient junction for some underground pipework ?

It's either pipework or cabling, can't say I notice much. Just another PITA to negotiate.

Gas works from what I’ve heard.

PITA from everyone else’s perspective.

I came across these last week when coming out of Queens retail park.
Nearside going towards town centre (is that center or centre) the lane was blocked for no reason that I could see & in my younger days would have parked and removed to obstruction.

It's a common occurrence - these were on Eccleshall Road a while back, the only obstructions in the road were the lights, he signs and the cones.

Similar set-up on Sandon Road last week, with three-way lights for added pointless obstruction.

There was a pointless set-up left over a Bank Holiday weekend at the Prison a few years ago - somebody moved it all into the lay-by outside Stafford Tyres.

I saw this before I went to work this morning, so left early. Only Stone Rd wasn't closed. Still wasn't closed on my way home.

Unless the times, are wrong and it should be 8pm - 4am?

I just caught the bus into town and Stone Road is open in both directions.

I couldn’t see any signs anywhere near Lloyd’s roundabout warning of any closures either.

Perhaps it’s just an anti “Alliance Street Ratrun” scam to put drivers off from cutting across :)

The Tour de Doxey junction sponsored by Lidl and Halfords is taking shape, complete with trafficblocker mini roundabout. It was bad enough aleady.

Stone Road Repairs Update.
As you may remember from some of the more recent posts regarding the Stone Rd, there is substantial damage to the road surface created by excessive diversion traffic. I had spoken with residents and had Highways visit and inspect the road damage. There are long term major repairs in the future, however the current road surface could not be left. Having spoken to the residents I gave my assurances that the broken gullies and pot holes would be dealt with as it was having a major effect on mental health in that area.
I am happy to report that the HIghways Team are carrying out essential road and gully repairs over the next few days.
WORKS:
The larges potholes have been repaired today. These include the Redhill Island. Areas around the corner of Gordon avenue and Homcroft Rd. Further patching will be carried out over the next few days on the Stone Roads main Highway.
I had identified several none running Gullies which have also been repaired and replaced today. Frustratingly, one Gully has a car parked over the top of it and the owner is away.
If any resident needs to get in touch with me or has any queries, please either call me on 07792024858 or email on Jonathan Price@staffordhire.gov.uk. Thankyou for your consideration and patience during these works. Cllr Jonathan Price.
