This is going to do absolutely piss all. Schools are still one of the biggest infection vectors going and are staying open.

Universities I can agree with, as you don’t want a mass migration of students right now. But keeping schools open is pure insanity.

Will be interesting to see what support (if any) they offer this time. Very likely it’s going to be longer than 4 weeks, as we need far longer than that now... but they won’t admit that because everyone will kick up a fuss because our country is populated with disobedient 12 year olds.

I'm relieved that this has happened (for purely selfish reasons) but a bit sad it's not for longer, I don't feel that 4 weeks is long enough to get rid of the problem. But at least it's a start.

Northerners were only worth 67% but now everyone is involved it's back to 80%

So again we're doing what was needed about a month too late, for the next 2 weeks cases will still be rising rapidly, and kids are still mixing as normal so new households can be infected regardless.

Wonderful!

Bit of a coughing fit, just awaiting my results, 89.6% of us get them the next day apparently. I'm definitely fighting something off if my heartrate is anything to go by.

You OK?
I feel mostly fine but can't run properly, HR is 10-15bpm higher than usual and I'm really out of breath each time I try. Sure I have something, but no symptoms are similar to covid.

Fatigue, headache, loss of sense of smell, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, chest pains, fever are all recorded covid symptoms.
Hmm, got fatigue, headache and loss of breath. Taste/smell is fine, no cough or fever, no pains. I'll try running again tomorrow, if still dodgy ill get tested.

Just a cold, Garmin devices are great at showing you you're fighting something off though aren't they?!

Yup, without it I'd just know it was weirdly hard, instead I can see my hr jumping every time I tried to push to a normal pace. My vo2max dropped 5 in 2 runs, which is the same as when I had 3 months off injured, and my l/r balance proves my it band issue wasn't a major factor.

I haven't really paid attention to my resting rates, but they feel normal.

What does it say your stress is like? That's normally the key for me (unless I drank a lot the night before then it's sky high anyway).

Should of gone into lockdown weeks ago, sure education is important, but at least if it was a "proper" lockdown it would be worth doing, i'm not sure this will be, sure the cases will drop but not enough for it not to shoot back up again when we come out of it.

At least make it worth it, at least give it the best chance it has to help.

Change of conditions and education settings is what caused it to ramp up in the first place, very quickly.

The only reason that'll make it be extended is because it's not come down enough- guess what? ALL IN EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS so why should the rest of us have to be in lockdown longer- and more places shut, shut them now for a month, no mucking around full on lockdown and let's get back out to it

Gove said the lockdown could last longer ?!

WTF !
Any of us could make such statement

If you have a cat ask it when the lockdown might end

If you don't have a cat ask your neighbour's cat

Or ask your elected member of parliament

Or stock up on baked beans and cup-a-soup....

Will the chase close this time? as outdoor recreation and exercise is permitted and encouraged, alone with your household or on a one to one between two households

Was about to say they'll likely close the car parks, but I think they did that regardless?
