When did nuisance calls start back up? I thought it was banned now... 3 so far today.
Son had one today , strangely from an 01785 number. He assumed it was hubby ringing from his works phone and answered it....... one of those accident claims calls

I got a call from an Ipswich number when I was walking yesterday, I didn't answer and then blocked it. Got quite a few random numbers on my blocked list now!

I had 3 on my mobile today, I don't answer if I don't have the number stored - but always check them afterwards. All listed as dangerous/nuciance. There were 2 yesterday, and 2 the day before...

They do numbers that are local to where they think you (or your son) live, I used to get 01252 calls for a while

I get quite a few still, but can’t ignore them... the curse of running a business I suppose

Must have got his number from old car documents from when he was still in Stafford.

TPS is pointless. I have been working from home since March and I get 2-3 calls a day. Signed up for TPS, ex directory and opted out on the electoral role. Usually a threat that payment to my internet service provider has failed and I will be cut off.
I am considering a change of number if my house move ever happens. Potentially now my mother has worked out how to use messenger, completely ditching the landline.

We don't even keep the land-line plugged in anymore, anyone who wants us knows to call our mobiles.

Signing up on TPS did seem to reduce the few I was getting - they were definitely increasing beforehand.

You can add mobile numbers to it now, and I get almost none on there now.

95% of my my landline ones, as few as they are, are of foreign origin these days.

I had a bloke from Derby a few times, he insisted that the law didn't apply to him, so I took the almost interminable trouble of reporting the number. It did stop.

I would say that it's probably worth doing, but it's not a total solution, by any means.

In other news, I have just spoken to a person who was actually there for the first time since Tuesday.

Reminded me of this...

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there!
He wasn't there again today,
Oh how I wish he'd go away!"[5]

When I came home last night at three,
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall,
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door...

Last night I saw upon the stair,
A little man who wasn't there,
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away....

Today, I had a sneak visit here - it's never really been open to the public, although that is planned to happen shortly, whenever the current circumstances allow.

It's mostly agricultural and cottage industry stuff,

Bookings for the campsite we stay at in Scilly opened today for next year. Normally wouldn't book this early but want something to look forward to!
The owner of cottage we stay in Poole got in touch today, their bookings have now opened as well. Working it differently for stays before June this time with all the uncertainty...no money required at all until 1 week before letting is due to commence, to save messing around with refunds if Boris or Covid decides it can't go ahead.
So once hubby has sorted some weeks out with his boss, hoping to book soon for Feb or March for an early break just to get a change of scenery (and hopefully some pubs open) and maybe another week later in summer.

Looks interesting. Did they let you have a go on any machinery?
