Yodel - Do they always suck?

Been waiting for a delivery at work, was due yesterday but no sign. Managed to get a tracking number, seems they tried to deliver it at 06:52 on Saturday morning but were unable to gain access. Its a workplace, that is hardly surprising! Didn't bother with a re-delivery, and when asking on their online chat where my parcel was they went off to check then said I'd better contact the sender and ask them to sort it out.

From this I am guessing that my shiny new nexus 7 is now being used to play candy crush by some thieving gippo yodel driver :(

Or, a possible alternative, the driver is just a dumbass who forgot to redeliver and yodel have a crap parcel management system so can't tell what has happened. Either way, yodel appear to once again suck donkey balls.

I had heard there was a crash between a Branston Pickle lorry and Yodel lorry in Cheddar Gorge.....

The company husband used to work for used Yodel for deliverys.......they are utter shite.....deliverys (if they did turn up) turned up damaged, bits missing, wrong items or just 'disappeared'. Yodel are also fond of chucking things over fences, putting then in wheelie bins & generally hiding them in places you wouldn't think to look :(

Hope you manage to find your item...

Never had any trouble with them myself. We have a designated driver mostly who is friendly, helpful and asked me for a hidey spot to put it in should I not be here. Our parcels come unscathed and on time.
Luck of the draw I think. I have a great one and you guys got the crap ones.

My one at home is usually very good, first time I've used them at work though and hopefully the last!

I've never had a good delivery from Yodel, my heart sinks when I get an email confirmation to say Yodel have my package.

Apparently Yodel delivered my parcel at 7.30 this morning - seems they somehow made it invisible too.

How they're still in business is an absolute mystery to me.

Have a look in your bins?

The blue bin was described as 'Reception' for @Jade-clothing .

Although, that might have been Hermes...

I won't use companies that use Yodel or Hermes. If I later found that they do I won't use them again.

DPD are the only company i find actually do the job properly.

I've never had a n issue with a courier other than yodel - yes occasionally things don't go as planned but it seems to be every single time with yodel - literally without fail.

I'm so sick of chasing up their incompetence - seems to be a bit of a domino at the moment, the latest thing in on along list of 'nothing is ever just easy....'

"We have a designated driver mostly who is friendly" but not much use when the pubs are shut.

DPD are usually very reliable but not recently.

One delivery was two days late - no explanation for why. The last delivery sent to me was also two days late, apparently out for delivery then the depot decided to return it to sender. Why? Who knows? I rang DPD and the CS person couldn't tell me, couldn't stop the return, wouldn't allow me to collect from the depot (not allowed due to Covid). Parcel is now at a depot (which one I don't know) and is awaiting 'further instructions'. A complete and utter **** up. One which I do not associate with DPD.

Had two deliveries from Hermes recently. One was damaged with a hole in the box and also covered in milk. Yes, milk. Who orders milk using Hermes?
The other was soaking wet.

Thankfully both lots of contents were undamaged but I have complained to all the companies who supplied me the goods. It won't do any good because Hermes is dirt cheap and that's why they use them.

The trouble with all the companies like Yodel and Hermes is that they're in a race to the bottom for the lowest prices, never mind the ( lack of ) quality of service.
That's what Royal Mail, constrained by the Universal Service Obligation, now has to compete against, hence First Class stamps going up from 76p to 85p in the new year.

To be fair, Royal Mail parcel delivery is very much on a par with Yodel and Hermes. In other words, utter crap.

Amazon (not sure which courier) left a parcel in my reception (blue bin).

Today I received a massive parcel from Hermes, left on the doorstep (I wasn't in) that wasn't even due for delivery untill the 18th December.

I can't imagine It was my usual Hermes delivery guy, he always makes sure we're in, takes a photo when we open the door, and also knows the 'safe place' for soft squishy things, and again takes a photo of them if he has to leave them. Anything boxed he takes back, and sends an email, or drops it off when he sees our cars at home.

I'm still waiting for Royal Snail to deliver an item that I ordered on the 23rd November, that was despatched on the 25th Nov, for delivery on the 27th.

The Etsy company I bought it from have been great, they've tried to trace the item with Royal Snail, but RM are most unhelpfull, I've ended up cancelling the order (as it was needed for the beginning of December) and they refunded it within a day. I can't praise the Etsy company enough, where as royal mail have been more than useless.

It must be geographic. Snail mail delivered a parcel from Liverpool second class in 3 days. My first class recorded parcel to London has not yet arrived, 7 days and counting :(

Couriers, no issue with any but not had any yodel deliveries.
