Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

I can think of nowhere I’d like to live less than next to a nursery...

I basically already live next door to one anyway - but they’re 8-12 and there’s only 3 of them. Feels like it though.
A friend of mine lived next to one - it was dreadful. I went round to see him once and had to leave. The noise level would have been illegal in a factory.

He had the 'benefit' of being able to turn his hearing aids off.

I would have no objection living next door to a nursery. I love hearing children laughing / enjoying themselves.

I can think of a lot of other places I would rather not live next door too.

Walking through town today, looks like a lot of shops that were doing click and collect have just mothballed their stores for now.

Being widely reported that the Administrators for Arcadia Group will be closing all of the Outfit stores permanently. Looks like there will be another gap in the Riverside.

Real shame but half expected, the business wouldn't be able to continue to run a best of store if all the brands are run and operated by different partners.

Suppose they could give first dibs to whatever brand wants to take on some stores, but then, again unfortunately it's too large for a single brand really.

And again, unfortunately it's a rather large purpose built unit, so again filling it is going to be problematic due to its size .

Wishful thinking here, but it'd be a good place and size for a hmv store. Can't think of many other brands that may take it on.

Does look like the Stafford one's somehow going to be kept on life support for a bit, maybe it'll just drop the outfit name, a bit like when Virgin Megastores went to zavvi, then when zavvi went under, a holding company just named the entertainer was born just to offload the companies stock.

Anyway, it'll probably only survive a few more months till the company is dissolved completely. Whether or not, it'll make it out of lockdown before the company folds is another matter.

This link indicates it'll run to the lease is up, which will be awhile.

Anyone know what's happening to Lotus House Chinese takeaway opposite the cinema. Had been closed for a couple of weeks. There is a sign on the door but can't read what it says as I drive past.

I think the sign says to pick up from one of the other takeaways (can't remember which one)
