The carer has had some sort of reaction to something we've drunk/eaten, he's off out to find antihistamines with very red face, neck, hands and arms, could be an interesting night.

Got home from work today, and promptly fell asleep in front of the TV, woke up with a start to the horror of daylight, panicked that I'd slept through the alarm and should be at work by 7am, and it must be way past 7am as it was bright outside.

Realised it was 4pm & I've already finished my day at work.... Phew!

Would it have been worse dreaming that you were at work and then waking up to realise that you are ?

Snowing well here in Woodseaves, hope it doesn't stick, Mrs T taking me to the hospital later and she's not very confident in the snow.

Snowing here as well , but not sticking on the wet ground at the moment. (said that last week though , then 10 minutes later the kids were out sledging in it....)
Hope all goes well for your hospital trip @Trumpet.

I’m going up to the loft today. I’ve never ventured up the loft mostly because the ladder doesn’t reach and I can’t quite stretch up enough to pull myself up also I’m a little scared of heights. I’m hoping to send my husband up first and get him to drag me up the rest of the way with a teenager holding on to the step ladder... there’s going to be a lot of trust involved

Leave the front door on the catch and take a phone with you - if it ends up with a pile of bodies on the landing, the paramedics will be able to get in easily.

I've never been up in our loft. Hubby has to stand on the handle of the step ladders and pull himself up. I've stuck my head in once when we managed to get the big ladders up there and I dared to go a few rungs up . Daren't actually go right up , I might never get back down again. (memories of being stuck on the garage roof for hours many years ago. Climbed up to hold the ladders while hubby painted the eaves. Then couldn't swing myself back down onto the ladders. )

Good luck @peggy You are braver than me !

Same, I've lived here 26yrs, but never set foot up there. Way too many spiders for my liking.

Very mudanely I tidied all the cables between the TV, Virgin box, blu Ray player, Wii, router, plug sockets etc etc. It was a big pile of speghetti, it's now cable tidied and velcroed to an inch of its life and is invisible from where I sit on the sofa. Been on the to do list for a long time that chore! Hopefully be good for a few years now!

I did ours a couple of months ago, a strangely satisfying job.

A job I've been meaning to do in the living room since we moved in but have never reached the required level of boredom to actually do.

We have a shelf for the TV rather than a stand so the mass of cables is on full show. I've tried to hide it with the Wii Fit board but it has greatly upset me for about 5 years!

I have a small room with a radio station with several radios. All interconnected to two computers, each with three monitors, external drives, an oscilloscope, a wall mounted TV and half a dozen aerial lines coming in through the walls and ceiling.
I can't face a tidying up job ..... :eek::eek::eek::eek::barf:

They used to have this sort of thing in B&Q, but it can be got from various 'proper' electrical places, too.

Slotted trunking is what it's commonly called.

You can pop cables in and out anywhere along the length, and hide excess lengths inside it after putting the lid back on.

It would upset me too tbh. I'm a bit ocd so hiding the cables is a big thing. Very happy with the outcome of today's task!

I work in IT. You can tidy any amount of cables with velcro on a roll!
