Morning all, looking to get Mrs T a laptop but know next to bugger all about these things.
Looking for a 17" screen. Main use would just be domestic stuff, storing photos, e-mailing, Zooming, online shopping etc.
Would be grateful for advice, recommendations etc.
ps pref under a grand.

Dell or HP. Dell is online, HP in Curry's. Should get something decent for c£500 to £600! Get a big HD if needing to store files

I recently sourced a laptop for the daughters school work and found it a nightmare given the recent rush for such IT equipment.
A quick search on pc world found this;
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/compu...5-1-tb-hdd-128-gb-ssd-black-10220496-pdt.html

It's an i5 processor, 8gb of team which is plenty, a solid state drive so it will boot quickly, and a separate 1tb drive which will be handy for photo storage (you may want to consider cloud storage)...

£729 seems a lot and I think that's down to the 17inch screen.

What's the battery life like? Will it accept a mouse?
