We did try the cage

I was wondering what other fruit based ideas I could come up with, but somehow Ollie the Collie has stuck!

We tried using the cage you lent me last night, and put him in, but she just wouldn't leave him alone so they had to stay apart. Didn't feel right locking her up, it's her house. He's very placid and sleeps loads so thinking a very wide stair gate or similar if one will fit to block off my office space, they both try to get over the boxes but if they can see each other maybe they'll be calmer. I hope!

90% of the time they are great, but she has the age advantage and can use her legs properly. Him not so much, he's like an albino ewok!

Size difference, he is almost 9 weeks and her almost 15:

I have a stairgate that you can have if you want it. It's no use to me now that Bee can't get up the stairs and she sleeps happily in her bed downstairs anyway.

It's extendable but don't know how wide you need it to be.

Any advise, anyone, on how to stop pups being sick in the car? The grand-pup has now had 3 trips in the car, but spews every time.... She's ok in there for a good time, untill the engine is switched on, then that's it, it turns into a vomitarium......

I wish I did, getting Ollie back from Wales took 1 minor and 2 proper stops, with explosions from both ends and ended up in me wearing an old jumper of my OHs we found in the boot!

Apparently it's relatively normal, most grow out of it when older.

I have asked someone who moves a lot of dogs, and other animals, in a vehicle regularly, but who has been lucky enough to avoid a lot of this issue - this was the response - "Young dogs tend to grow out of car sickness but I suppose the thing they need to do is try and work out what the trigger is - is the dog anxious or afraid of the car (have they often ended up at the vet’s at the end of a trip and associating it with that maybe?)"

Maybe try having the engine running before the dog enters the car?

Ours were fine if they could see out of the window, they liked to sit in grandson's child seat as it gave them a better view. Got slightly problematic when one of them learned how to open the window but they were strapped in.

Both of ours had this problem as pups, however it was eliminated with one and greatly reduced with the other by sitting them in the front passenger seat.

They will grow out of it. Bee was always sick when we went to our caravan in Wales.

I would advise taking them on short journeys over a few weeks and slowly increasing the distance. They will soon become accustomed to the travel motion after a while.

Grand-doggo is fine untill the engine is started, but, she did spend 3 days on a van with a load of other pups on their journey from Romania...

I don't know about dogs, I'm 57 and am always travel sick unless I'm driving. Nothing has ever helped me.

Kwells and only looking out of the front window for me Glam.
Mum always had Kwells in her handbag, they never helped at all. If I'm a passenger, then I have to concentrate on the journey, or I will projectile vomit all over the interior of the car x

Penparc on Madford Retail Park have a range of tablets that may help if Ollie doesn't grow out of car sickness.

I think I saw doggy travel sickness tablets last time I was in there or stress calming tablets may work which they definitely have.

You could monetarise them too, has anyone seen Casper the collie on social media? He's local I think.

Oh my gosh, Ollie is beautiful. I may go for very long walks on the Isabel Trail in an attempt to find him when he's allowed out.
He's not actually the dog we went for! I wanted his brother, but as both were available figured an evening drive gave us a choice (roadblocks permitting). As it was he came straight out and pushed against my oh, then a minute or two later me, while the other dog was more interested in the cows. He chose us really, was hard to leave his brother but I really couldn't afford another!

Ollie on the left here, his brother was even prettier tbh but this one felt right.
