250,000th poster!
According to the Zoe app there has been a large increase in numbers over the last 10 days or so. I assume the B.1.617.2/Indian/Delta variant is now in town.

The Zoe app is showing that numbers are the highest in the 20 to 24 age group, with relatively high numbers also in the 15 to 19 age group.
Yes! But in us older people too... See my last post! Everyone still needs to be so careful.

As long as it keeps the older people out of hospital (in the main) the vaccines are doing their jobs. I do wonder what the end game will look like (assuming 19th July - him and his stupid dates) with most adults having at least 1 dose.

I admire your confidence that there will be an end game. I'm not sure those who have suddenly found they have power by keeping us all locked down will be keen to lose that power, whatever the actual conditions on the ground are.

When I was stuck in the ambulance, the lovely paramedics were telling me how they've noticed cases have gone up really quickly over the last week and a half, and it's all people like me, 50+ who have had both their jabs. .
Cases might be up but this doesn’t mean that those vaccinated are dying from it or even getting ill with it.
My vaccinated niece tested positive and just lost her sense of taste, nothing else that’s it, she didn’t feel remotely poorly.
So the vaccines are doing their job.
If being vaccinated doesn’t bring about a certain freedom (while still being careful around the unvaccinated) then what is the point of it all?

In May, COVID deaths didn’t even factor in the top ten causes of death, in fact heart disease accounted for ten per cent of all deaths in May but I don’t see Boris banning the pork pies. More people are dying of normal flu than COVID.

I personally think that if it’s not going away then it’s time to learn to balance the risk and learn to live with it. Boris needs to stop fixating on this one Illness and reopen Britain for business.

I don't believe they have an end game yet, but I also don't believe the restrictions are here for power's sake.

No. I'm not conspiracy theorying. I'm simply stating that since the restrictions were brought in, some people have had a taste for power they might be reluctant to give up, once the need for restrictions is over. It's human nature (amongst bureaucrats and politicians).

Anyway we're not yet there.

If anyone hasn't had their second vaccination yet you should be able to bring it forward
Only certain People can bring there second jab forward. But if you're able to it could be worthwhile doing with the Delta variant doing the rounds.

He can do it on the booking website. It will show him the availability at the centre he's booked at before he cancels to rebook.
Aaaah thanks @Lucy. Good to know he will be able to see if there's any earlier availability before he cancels original one to re-book . I'll let him know .

Got my second jab on Sunday, got sick of waiting for my GP to contact me as 12 weeks was approaching, and I can never get through on the phones. Went online and despite a few weeks ago it only offering me places like Liverpool it actually let me book the centre nearest to my house.

Within an hour I was dizzy (but had been running round the field with the dog), within 3 hours I was asleep, and my mind was all over the place yesterday so I took a day off work even though I was WFH. Put the TV on and slept through at least 3 films, then back to bed again! Much better today though :D

Stock up on sleep now...

I've put in for my third jab. (Unsuccessfully.) It's not that I'm worried about COVID, it's just, I've had so many jabs recently, hormone, contrast and nuclear jabs, and blood tests over and over (wherein they suck out: (famous movie line, if you can name the movie, I'll buy you a pint) suck out my 'precious bodily fluids') I'm something of a 'stick it to me' addict.
If there's a jab for 'the bus is late' when I'm waiting at the bus stop, or 'watching East Enders,' ... then I'm up for it.
