Meant to say, I was disappointed that Sainsburys have removed the screens from the self service checkouts. I understand it's a company policy that they're phasing them out in English stores but I've added to a number of voices responding to their Twitter comments that I'd rather they keep 'em.

I was in Sainsburys in Bude this morning and it would seem all is thrown to the wind. Door monitors ... gone. One way system ... gone. Mask requirement ... gone. About half and half of customers wearing them. I'm sort of disappointed because it's a good shop around these parts.
Another problem was the car park which overlooks the sea frontage. A lot more cars in there than there are people in the shop as they've done away with the traffic warden. Would have thought that was a good job for an ex SAS member with a quality Kalashnikov Assault Rifle. :P

I went there today at about 2pm, my first trip out in over a month - hardly any customers wearing masks, and the big screens were gone off self scan! That happened overnight so I'm told. Not happy, and not looking forward to going back to work either!

That seems to be in complete contrast to Tesco, who sent me an email yesterday asking everyone to keep wearing masks and saying that they would be keeping the traffic lights and sanitiser at entrances, and also keeping the checkout screens.

Everything else appears to still be in place (and Sainsburys are asking people to continue wearing masks) but it's just the screens that have gone, oddly (or that I noticed).

It's only the large screens that divide the self scans, an the ones between tills to separate lines of customers. The screens around the tills / kiosk are staying for the forseable future.

Staff & customers are being asked to wear masks, but with no one on the door anymore it can't really be enforced.

Boris said it's to give everyone a chance to have been offered both jabs. I get the logic.... just maybe don't open them UNTIL then without any measures in place, in that case?
It was a bit confusing. I think he wants COVID passports introducing immediately, but that negative tests will no longer validate a COVID passport after the end of September.

As most are all me me me, now now now, I'm not sure they'll care til September.
Somebody might ask these chaps, protesting about lockdowns in London - today.

If you look closely, you can see the bottle that just misses the head of the kid on the shoulders.

I called in the Wildwood Co-op tonight. I was wearing my mask and sanitised my hands on entry (and with my own bottle on the way out, as they never have any on the exit . Although not sure if they are different entry and exit doors now). Hardly anyone wearing a mask, hardly anyone socially distancing , and the one customer I saw who was wearing a mask then proceeded to come and stand directly behind me at the till !
The 2 girls on the tills were wearing masks , but the other staff I saw weren't .
