What's left of the company behind the original Indi bar still actually owns the building , they tried resurrecting the idea a few years ago , under the Unit A branding was meant to be a warehouse style bar after the indi bar collapse, but they didn't want to invest any money into it, just wanted stock, a DJ and a bar, but got refused on the grounds that they'd at least need to get a fire system working, adequate fire / safety lighting, and toilets installed .
The original plans for the venue as indi bar were stunning. It was set to be an 800 capacity venue over the two floors.
The reason they pulled out is, at the time, every other indi bar they owned were open till 4am, Stafford licensing refused to grant them this kind of license, as it within a residential setting, and restricted them to a 1am closing, so they walked away.
