Close to getting divorced over all this ' Rock, scissors ' crap which I've never understood and featured on a recorded gogglebox. Hubby tried explaining then giving up, said in the olden days would have flipped a coin over where to go etc . Why not bloody stick to that instead of all this stupid this beats that , but it doesn't if that comes first malarkey.

Maybe I'm due to be put out to pasture as, despite having all my past exam certificates, my mind doesn't compute all this modern crap terminology ! ( especially after finishing all the ciders off...)

Is that the sort I remember where you just add water and the colours appear?

Brings back memories of rare special treats of a similar (or same) book with cut out figures and cut out clothes to dress them with , with tabs to attach.

Ooooh yes,just add water!
If I remember right, the cut out figures could be found on the back of the Bunty comic too. Are you allowed 'proper scissors' or just the small silver paper ones we used have in Primary school?

I was trusted with a pair of blunt scissors that came with part of my knitting set. But not blunt enough to prevent me scalping my brother . Cost my parents a fortune to get it put sort of right (at John Henrys hairdressers/barbers , before he changed the shop to the travel agents that it still is nowadays . Bet a lot of people wouldn't know 'John Henry Travel ' was a hairdressers and barbers years ago)

Over 50 years ago, my older sister got hold of a pair of scissors and cut her fringe., down to the scalp with ½ inch left at the side.
Being a lot younger than her (2yrs and 8 months) I was the little sister that copied everything she did. So I told her I wanted mine cutting.
She did exactly the same to my fringe. To this day, I can still remember mum shouting at us for it.
The next day was school photos. We both looked stunning!

I have just done my biennial bowel sample, although I think they have skipped a year last year, making this a triennial event, probably just this once.

I presume the kit has been here since my birthday, that seems to be the trigger for it in the past. I hope they can cope with the delay.

It is now a much less 'dangerous' procedure than it used to be, if only because there is only one sample required this time, not six, as before,

I wonder if anybody has investigated what injuries have resulted from the contortions involved, much less the food poisoning possibilities.

I have posted it now, before the temptation to change the address label to 'Downing Street' overwhelmed my defences.

Now, I just have my aorta to be shouted at in a few day's time. I'm hoping that'll be OK, it seems quite a fundamental part.

Mine was done (after 2 years) in January 2020 . That was just the one sample as well.
But that was before Covid really kicked off. Due this coming January if they stick to biennial , but hoping maybe they are running a year behind ......

Got away with not having my usual 9 monthly thyroid blood tests due to covid as well. Not had one of those for 2 years , but it's usually stable after all these years on the same dosage of thyroxine.
