Debating doing the big shop tomorrow morning, a week early, just incase Minimes covid test is posative. I'd usually just top up daily when I finish work, but I'm not sure this is just a cold.

Hopefully she doesn't have it but if she does, as long as you've been double jabbed and don't have symptoms/test positive then you don't have to self isolate.

The guidance is to take a PCR test before leaving the house though, and I know Track and Trace are contacting people to do that.
I thought you could only take a PCR by going to a test centre unless you pay an extortionate amount for one of those holiday test kits?

You're allowed to leave the house for the PCR test, but can't go anywhere else, as I found out in June before I ended up in hospital.

The carer and child were allowed to go the work/school, I had to drive myself to the center (with a fever alternating with chills) have the test, then isolate till I got the results, while the others could do what they wanted!

Same tomorrow, we can both go to work until she gets her results, if she's posative then we have to have pcr test and isolate till we get the results. If we're negative and she's posative we can return to work.

Ohhh also you can request one by post, but that would take ages I imagine, OK if you want a week off work to wait for it, then send it back and wait for the results.

24/48hrs for the drive in/walk in is long enough to wait when you've got a life!

After a stressful day sorting out internet and other issues , got de - stressed by deciding on a drive to Worcester on my own as soon as hubby brought the car back from work.

Had 2 of the most flowing journeys ever down the motorway in the evening rush hour to sons to drop off his parcel (which should have arrived 'guaranteed next day 'while he was here on tues but they blamed shortage of lorry drivers....). Chose the right directions to be going at the time, as the opposite carriageways each journey had miles and miles of traffic jams. But miraculously my direction kept moving well .
Pity there were lower speed restrictions in parts or would have done both journeys in record time!

Had an early tea before I went , but son made a cottage pie while I was there so had to try some of that. Finished off the whole MASSIVE casserole dish of it between us , it was so delicious . Bang goes the diet yet again, although those calories were worth it!

Feeling more human now , and the evening is being finished off with a couple of ciders :pint:....diet starts again tomorrow! :D

I would try and get them to send you a new modem now, before it breaks.

Did ask for one as had this one a few years now , but said I had to wait 24 hours to see if what they had done their end had fixed it before ringing back to request one.

Strangely though I've never had any problems until today , the day after a BT engineer was working on the pavement outside a near neighbours house yesterday afternoon for quite a while. :hmm:

They could well have upgraded your line and your modem can no longer cope.

Nah the engineer messed up the line, ADSL is stupidly simple compared to the likes of DOCSIS that Virgin use, you’d need to be running a modem from the 90s to not handle the pretty paltry speeds BT offer

Done something I've not done for a while...had a few hours solid sleep and only just woke up :o after hubby went at 7.30am . (Been awake on and off for most of the night , but that's the norm for me. I never normally sleep for more than an hour in one go).

That de-stressing with a toddle down the motorway , and bonus of massive amounts of sons scrumptious Shepherds Pie whilst relaxing watching telly for a change, has made me feel really good today. :)

They did that to me, in the most convoluted 'British bureaucracy' manner.

In the middle of July, I got an email from Yodel -"click this link if you're not going to be in when we deliver your order from TalkTalk".

It looked real, but I had ordered nothing, so I sent it to TalkTalk's Phishing Line, the only way I could contact them at all, informing them that I was not on the premises and not likely to be for some time..

They decided that this was a 'complaint' and responded that there was no order on my account and I should ignore it - fair enough.

Then I got another email from Yodel, saying they had delivered it to 'a neighbour'. I informed TalkTalk of this, as it now looked like they might have sent me something, possibly in error.

I finally got a response to that, via email, because "We've been ringing your landline and you're not answering" - I told you I was in Ireland, I can't hear the bell from here - "Can you tell us what the label on the parcel says?" - Er, no, because I'm 200 miles away and I don't know who has got it - "Maybe we can sort it out when you get back" - Yeah, maybe you can...

A week later, I got a 'no reply' email from TalkTalk - We're going to send you a new modem, plug it in as soon as you get it.

I tried to inform them of this, but it was impossible to achieve a response and I gave up.

By the middle of August, I started getting 'you haven't plugged your new modem in' emails, then 'plug it in before September 2nd or your service won't work'.

Returning on September 6th, I found that they had, for once, told me the truth, and the phone had ceased, too.

Luckily, I didn't have to hunt for who had the modem, as it had been found behind my bin a couple of days before my return.

Nothing worked, not even the phone, so I set about installing it, to see if that would spark it up again. I used the quick guide on the box, but it didn't work. I was unable to use the "enclosed booklet for use if there are difficulties", because there was no enclosed booklet. So, I tried a dismantle/reassemble attack, and that got the internet going again, but not the phone. Some subsequent fiddling has got the phone back now.

The delivery 'to a neighbour' occurred on July 23rd, not being found by 'a neighbour' until September 2nd.

Had both of mine done there, very well organised.
They were fantastic! Really friendly and well organised . Even nicer was they said " You are clearly the under 65's one then" as they went to get the correct vaccine.
"No, I need the 65's and over"
"What??? Are you sure ???? You look no-where near that ! " :D

The one entering the details on the computer still ticked the box saying under 65's by mistake , until it flashed up with 'error' . Said I'd thrown them right off with looking so young

Where is this, the chemist or a dedicated jabbing centre? Do you need to book a time or just turn up?

It's in the dedicated jabbing centre , in the Northend Community Centre ( nextdoor to the chemist/medical centre) . Have to make an appointment . I rang on 01785 290151 . I was told about it by someone who went to the footie match this week , and then saw the number advertised on STIG (Or was it the Nextdoor site ?) saying they had some spare appointments going begging.

When I joked that I would have to have my covid booster by that excellent jabber , they said they are starting doing the covid boosters there from next week and when I'm able to have mine the end of October (6 months after 2nd jab) I could go along there to have it done.
