A fun one tomorrow as the Marathon passes through Kingston Hill at 10am and I need to get the wife to the station for a 10.30 train…

Should be interesting, to say the least. It doesn’t look like we’re going to be trapped by it? As it seems to only be Weston Road westbound that’s closed off

Forgive the lack of local knowledge but where is Kingston hill?

Between Weston Road and Tixall Road - where the Morris Man is - it was a golf course until the late 70s, when the houses started being built on it.

The course moved to Ingestre - in the path of HS2 now...

Nighttimes only, I believe for several days. Resurfacing work, probably connected with the new roundabout.
In that case @Cue there won't be any issues. Drive into town down Weston road and drive to the station around Queensway past Sainsbury's etc.

Oh, dear, that's between Prospect Road and Oxford Gardens.
By Top shop? I have no idea where those roads are, you all forget I only learnt to drive 10 years ago, so I navigate by pubs and shops!

Is Littleworth where the butchers is, off western Rd, where the screws, nails, light bulbs & oddity shop was... (You turn left there, then left again, then your on Tixall Rd, which takes you to my sons house!)

Yes, Tomlinsons butchers in St Thomas Street, the hardware shop with a closing down sale on the corner and the Prince of Wales and Metropolitan Bar on the Weston Road.

Littleworth would also include the roads off Corporation Street at the Weston Road end - Mynors Street, etc.

Coton Fields is mostly the 'rabbit warren' houses at the back of Oxford Gardens - Edison Road, etc.

Much obliged, it’s rather hard to decipher how much of the town they’re going to be shutting off, especially when except for fairly major roads you don’t really know Stafford by road names…

I always class Avon rise area to St Thomas Lane on Tixall Rd as Kingston Hill. ( my aunty&uncle lived there and that was their official address)
My grandparents lived in the cottages by The Gate pub ( Metropolitan now?) and Prince of Wales pub on Tixall Rd which is Littleworth.
I still address my mates xmas/bday cards in Westhead Ave , Weston Rd end
as Littleworth , but not sure if correct thinking about it..should it be Coton Fields??)

Didn't know the hardware shop was closing down. Not been that way for quite a while .

There's only a need for number, street, town and postcode - not 'Littleworth' or whereever - when posting things.
Too many people "not been that way for quite a while" is why shops and pubs close down !

The hardware shop on Weston Road?

Passed it regularly but honestly it always looked a bit run down and never that inviting to visit. Never had any reason to go in there when B&Q and Wickes were available either.

Nothing to do with where people go, it was a marketing issue

Marcus didn't bother about marketing and his shop might have "looked a bit run down and never that inviting to visit" but he was far more knowledgeable, and offered a more comprehensive service, than any assistant in B&Q and Wickes
