I'd still love to know their plan here, they have no planning permission to turn it into anything but a shopping centre, and they seem happy with their rent diminishing every month ? Strange business plan.

The market moving is partly because the council are spineless...And it looks like the markets going so will they buy/take that site as well and do a very lage scale rebuild/refit to convert to housing/leisure ?,
It’s commercially sensitive, I’d guess the old co-op or m&s.Where's it going?

To be honest both of those building are in very poor condition and amount required to bring them up to spec could rule them out, considering there are so few stalls i wonder if there is space either at riverside mall or even madfordIt’s commercially sensitive, I’d guess the old co-op or m&s.
I thought the whole run from market square north was earmarked for housing
I've heard the actual refrigeration units are actually built into the building in the old m&s, making it costly, and potentially hazardous to remove, potential bulldoze and start again I reckon. To be honest both of those building are in very poor condition and amount required to bring them up to spec could rule them out, considering there are so few stalls i wonder if there is space either at riverside mall or even madford

Depends if they're still in working order, I find things tend to break when you stop using them for long periods of time.Wouldn't food based market traders just be able to use them if the market is to move to the old M&S (which I think is more likely then the Coop department store) - you wouldn't have to rip them out at all?
There could also be issues of segregation, where there are multiple users, rather than a single corporate entity.Depends if they're still in working order, I find things tend to break when you stop using them for long periods of time.
