Not sure how I feel about this, still not exactly a fan of cramming next to loads of people. Wasn't feeling so bad but someone I vaguely know (met at a few gigs) got hospitalised yesterday with it and has lung damage, she wasn't jabbed admittedly but even so I do have a pregnant OH to consider here.

And yourself to consider!!

I'm avoiding indoor mass gatherings as much as possible and having some doubts about the Manics gigs in October to be honest.

I'll probably still go but do my best to social distance as much as possible.

One quarter of the covid intensive care patients in Birmingham were vaccinated. Numbers refer to the last 3 months

Nick Cave isn't selling too well at the Regent so if you like live music but prefer your theatre half full/empty maybe this is for you

Not cheap tho

Re lung damage

This is not getting reported but is widespread according to hospital staff

Top bits basic maths though isn't it. 75% population is jabbed so if vaccinations did nothing it would be 3 quarters. Still horrid though.

Anyway, I'm next at The Gatehouse in November...

It could also mean that they are still in ICU, rather than the mortuary.

Like being bruised by the belt in a crash that would have killed you without it.

'Immunity' may not be the best word to describe what you can expect - 'protection' might be a better term.

It's your immune system's reactions that kill you, a bit of pre-training may reduce the initial (over) reaction to a survivable level.

Age is also a factor, anecdotally I hear its the older jabbed ones and younger not, but I have no evidence.

I dunno, part of me wants to go but part of me really doesn't.

Just received an email that Andy Parsons is on Thursday, first I've heard? Also is another no from me, so guess I'll try and resell those too.

The gatehouse must be busy this week. I had an email earlier saying 5sets of double tickets for Russel Kane tonight had been returned so snap them up quick.

Andy Parsons still has lots of tickets left, so the Gatehouse can't resell mine. Front row seats and they may end up being empty, shame! Offered them to a nephew but if not I guess I'll put them on a local FB group unless anyone here wants them for free? Obvs need to wait on nephews response first.

Yeh, but you could make it a super classy evening by having pre-dinner, pre-theatre drinks in the Coach around the corner.
I was thinking more of a meal and a pint in the Sun then a pint in the Coach and Horses - and I'd have plenty of change out of £25 for a couple of pints after the play.

And free front row seats for the punch up outside the coach after the play. Enjoy :)

We had cocktails and tapas delivered form them during a lockdown and they were fab. That really is a great deal - and Stafford is tiny, plenty of time to get from there to the gatehouse, it's not like there's multiple shows on starting at different times. I bet The Square are a bit annoyed they didn't think of this.

And a short stroll to walk off the meal before the theatre starts.
