my lodger that you were talking to t'other night would be more than happy to do it, and he's very hard working.

I've had most of my gaff replastered clart. It's a right disruption. Not only is lots of mess inevitable but wet plaster also smells ming! The people that did mine were no consumate pro's but they did a good enough job and were fairly cheap (in comparison with other quotes as no plaster work is cheap). Will dig out the number for you.

This link goes back a while - but I'm asking the same question - does anyone know a good cheap plasterer ? It's not a big job but will do cash in hand - I need a couple of rooms reskimmed (if that's the right word) :)

Thanks

i used BS Plastering for a small job and he did it in a jiffy and at a very competitive price, so i'll put them forward as a recommendation.

see the thread 'Can anyone recommend a plasterer?', i posted in that thread also with regards to other so called plasterers.

edited twice now, spelling!

I rang Jason Roberts the Stafford plasterer and although he sounded ok when I initially spoke to him on the phone, he said he would be in touch working a couple of days for a quote but he never bothered, I tried ringing him again but no luck. I have since found someone else :).

Tinkerbell, can i ask who you used and if they were good enough?

again, if anyone has plasterer experiences recently and someone they can recommend then let me know.

So far i know of;-
BS Plastering (have used but wanted to try someone else perhaps)
Matt Askey (not a bad fella just too expensive)
Jason Roberts (will try, see what quote he gives me)
JP Mullane (NO, after the odd phone conversation i had last year time!)
Steve Tonks (Rikki let me know about this guy, but just his name and i can't find anything about him, Rikki?)

I know someone who lives in Cannock. There not a "business by trade" but have qualifications etc for plastering and a damn good job they have done. Personal friend of mine and really good quotes. Let me know if you want the number 57mph :)

My mate would do some plastering for cash in hand in his spare time. He used to do it full time and is good. He has done several rooms in my house and work for many of my friends. If anyone wants his number please PM me.

Thanks to those that added to this thread.

I've Jason Roberts coming round for a quote (though he answered with a just 'Hello...', rather than his business name which i hate...!)
I'll also give Tonkinsons a ring, ta

They were called Lenny & Pete - very good plasterers - didnt make a mess - turned up when they said and they did a very good price.

I was charged £595 (cash) for my hall, front room which is quite big, stairs, landing and dining room. They also had to board out some parts of radiator pipes and under the stairs.

ref your list - do not bother with Jason Roberts, I tried to get him to give me a quote because someone recommended him -despite promises, and me reminding him, he couldnt be bothered to turn up at the time agreed to give me a quote.

Thanks Tinker, I have JR coming round on Friday so will go ahead and stick with that and see what outcome i get...if he turns up!

I've emailed (no one's picking up the phones, busy?) Tonkinsons thanks to Diane and about to ring 'Lenny & Pete', shame they haven't a business name.
