Anyone with a Stafford connection can use the forum... just for some reason Castletown has a large representation....

I am Castlefields myself.

It is quite "castetown-centric" but I think that's just because the people who spent the time setting the site up, are from castletown.

I'm not, but a lot of people I know are.

its a nice area i remember, and even has a pub or 2 on that estate or it did.
Is the post office around on jerningham st still ? or is it another thing that had to shut ?

Cant say i noticed a castle town dominence her lol other than 1 thread about the parking there. Littleworth here....

Lots of other post, I'm from Weston Downs. It's good when people from other areas post ... overthrow the Castletown lot! =)

Not at all, SugarRay! Castletown seems to have quite an active and friendly community, though, so word of mouth of The Forum has spread through them all pretty quickly and resulted in a lot of them ending up here. :)

Not so, I have never lived there. ;)

You are right, though; a lot of friends who helped make this place what it is live or have lived on Castletown!

There used to be 3 until a couple of years ago. The Stafford Arms has been demolished and replaced with a forecourt for the Mercedes garage, the Castle Tavern can't really be considered a pub anymore and there's hardly ever anyone in there, however the Railway Inn is still very popular and is the same as it's been for many years.

Yeah the post office closed a good few years ago and is currently being redeveloped by Paul Reynolds. It's either being converted into a couple of flats or a single house.

I suspect a lot of people settled briefly in Castletown. I lived on Castle View in the early 90's, before moving "up north" to Marston Road area.

www.staffordforum.com started life as www.castletowncollective.com. Not a lot of people know that.

i looked at castletown for ages, but nothing was available when i was planning my move so ended up elsewhere.. it's a lovely place though, with the strongest community i have honestly ever seen :)

I was helping a friend move a bookcase yesterday afternoon from one house I had never been to in Castletown to another. Over a cuppa we got talking about the people I know in the area and how good it would be to have a street party on New Year's Eve. All of a sudden I realised we must have sounded like characters from Coronation Street, what with all the plans, tales and gossip. Knowing so many great people in the few streets around my home made me feel incredibly fortunate. I have never lived anywhere quite like it and I ain't going nowhere!

I'm ST16 'til I die. I love this crazy Castletown.

Another Coton fields resident here, I hesitate to advance the theory, but Castletown seems to be younger and more lively than the Coton fields population.

I moved to Somerset in December 2008, and finally sold my house in Castletown in May 2009. I miss the place. Castletown rocks, though as Andreas says, it's lost its best pub and its post office. :-(
